"Never really shone for Wicklow". Unbelievable statement

Well, some unbelievable stuff on here and it looks like club and player politics. You need to forget comparisons with other generations and go on what you see. There hasn't been another player within an asses roar of him during his time. For those that are unsure, he does it in both codes and off the pitch as well.. Wicklow had (for the moment) one of the best around and some of you are still cribbing..

The only problem i have is that the last few years have been hampered by injury which is unfortunate...

Pistel, Glenn Ryan was on the way out when they played us, you would have done a job on him yourself. I was at the Down game, and wasn't Hannon just brilliant that day! Played well against Antrim and Waterford, wow, don't forget his performances against Kilkenny.

Lads, neutral fan obviously has a grudge against the chap. Pretty sad really.

Cant believe anyone is questioning his performances for the county? Dragged us through games so many times. Lets not forget his performances against the pro's in the International Rules, the man proved himself enough times

We are talking about a pure legend of Wicklow football and hurling. What a pleasure to see him in the Wicklow and Rathnew colours over the years. Good luck to him as he joins up with the hurlers to see out his remaining playing days.

Kevin O'Brien was a great player too.

I would like to wish Leighton Glynn all the best in the future, he's been an outstanding servant and one of the best players ever to play for our county. He will be extremely difficult to replace and I can understand why he wants to play for the hurlers based upon his ability in both codes. It is a complete waste of time arguing who was the best player between himself and Kevin O'Brien, these two players are the only players I have heard people from outside the county rave about in the last 30 years and the reason for this was the outstanding skill both players exhibited for their club, county and country on the national and international stage. The memory of Leighton tearing the Down defence apart in the All Ireland qualifier in 2009 will live with me for a long time, this was a Down team that went on to contest and could have won the All Ireland the following year and yet they had no player that could live with Leighton that day.

I don't think that Glynn should be called back in. He had good innings with the footballers. Now he wants to joining the hurling team. There will be many more heroes in the future in Wicklow football. Lets not keep looking back. He made his decision. Move on. There are players who gave a lifetime to the jersey and only retire when the legs or body tells them. Glynn decided he wanted a fresh challenge. Draw a line now and move on. Promotion to D3 should be the first aim.

Unbelievable nonsense on this questioning Leighton Glynn. Instead of lauding a genuine GAA great, he is coming in for criticism fuelled by club bias. Sad to see but as a Carlow man, I have also heard the same nonsense in relation to Brendan Murphy etc, so begrudgery will always be a feature within the weaker counties, which is why they will always be weaker !

Ha ha . Its just a pity really that the really good players in whatever county they are in, still have the negativity.

When Conal Keaney left the Dublin footballers for the hurlers, the footballers wished him good luck, thanked him for his service and moved on. The Collins left the Clare hurlers to join the footballers. The hurlers will move on. Wicklow should do the same and let this drag on into next march or april, when they will realise that there is no return.

I have rarely seen a game where game changing key decisions were either wrongly called or not at all. Passion and intensity saved the day.

Leighton proved just how good he is after his performance in the final.
