Sligo Hurling Managment

(Oldest Posts First)

Just after hearing that the whole Sligo management team have stood down again ,this time over clubs not releasing players for training ,considering the good progress and that they v Derry in 4 or 5 weeks time this is very disappointing news

Listened to an Ocean FM interview from these lads and I was confused about the whole thing. Seems to be more than the situation you describe. Off the Balls interview probably explains it in more details. Would appear that the County Secretary and other officers didn't help the situation if you read between the lines. Anyway very disappointing for a group of lads that are heading for a league final

Hmmm, more to this than meets the eye. Very disheartening for the players where only a handful are attending training with games to come versus Leitrim and Derry. Time for the Hurling Chairman to deliver as he is steeped in hurling. Congrats Easkey on a great victory, great foresight a number of years ago from Michael Gordon et al who started from virtually nothing and brought these lads through to senior. Yours etc Leyny

I would be careful lads. The manager has been flat out in the press pushing his story.

From what I hear there is far more to it.

Egos have got out of "Hand".

It didn't take them long to find a new set up anyway by the looks of it. Hope it works out for them anyway and that they continue their success.

I have said before that my knowledge of Hurling is poor so can anyone enlighten me as to why we will have hurlers missing for Sligo this weekend and probably for the Christy Ring. I am just guessing that it is to do with the last mgt team and how they exited their position?

Its simply dwn to the complete mistreat of the staff and team by the cb and by one club mistreating the county team ,if the top clubs arnt pulling together for a common goal then they were wasting there time

I thought the missing players didn't come back at all this year, even before the issues arose?
