Enda Wiliams has left the panel to rejoin Longford! He was a loose marker but overall was better then alot on the panel

[We wish Enda Williams well.He added to the team, particularly against London in 2012.

Personally I think it gives the new management a chance to bring in more mobile younger players to fill that role.

The trials have proven they are there and are VERY KEEN to play for the county.

Longford v Dublin in Leinster so qualifiers after that next year

Probably against Donegal Tyrone Armagh or Derry

Not a bad half back just a bit loose and he has the power to kick a pressure point from 50-60 yards as he proved a few times

Shane Quinn should fit nicely into enda Williams former role along side Wayne McKeon

Good luck to him and longford next year no doubt they will be gunning for promotion from div3

Leitrim panel cut by few lads over the weekend. Shane Quinn one of them I believe... What has the world come to 94?

I wouldnt panic about any panel yet lads

The championship is 6 months away yet

The league is 2 months away

And the fbd is being played by a trial/second string outfit

As far as im concerned we are in capable hands when it comes to our management and backroom team

And I hope the media don't go printing in-house dealings between management and players on private mattersor the 5th consecutive year in arow

I mean mickey harte drops big names match by match as does Jim mcguinness Joe kernan Kieran mcgeeney Jim Gavin and them lads teams are competing at the top and there is never a word about it

Leitrim manager doesn't pick our johnny or paddy for a game and you can be sure it'll be onthe front page of the observer and the six oneaand probably primetime

Players don't stay young fit strong and healthy 24/7 365 we all have off days and miss a ball and your only ever as good as your last performance let it be training or a game

So can we make a new years resolution to let management make the decisions this coming year in 2014

Good Luck to Sean and his back room team and what ever panel he picks LIATROIM ABU 14

94 allstar, you're only as good as your next performance, too many players living on past performances

Well pointed out littleBen

Your main opponent is not your marker it's yourself

The Leitrim Observer also understands that Melvin Gaels pair Brendan Brennan & Fabian McMorrow and Glencar/Manorhamilton duo Adrian Croal and Brian McDonald may not also be available to the new manager for the 2014 campaign.
County: Leitrim As far as it is know McDonald is back training, the other lads will be missed if the not returning they were very committed and all contributed immensely to co football, I wish them well if they are definitely not returning? anyone know why?

Because they are not good enough for county?

Maybe management are going to try and develope a young squad over 2+ years with a bit of experience thrown in.

Fair play for there efforts of the last few campaigns.

I'd fully agree with ya on that villatown

County: Leitrim Cannot agree with you all 3 lads, will be missed, they were all great fighters on field, never giving up and played a big part in winning FBD LEAGUE LAST YEAR

Smokie (Leitrim) - Posts: 146 - 12/12/2013 16:48:40    1523125

Brendan Brennan would be the biggest loss

Mcmurrow was on the panel but not the team this year as he seemed unfit

Croal is a good wing forward but didn't seem to get back into the game after his head injury against Clare

And Bruno was suffering with hamstring injury most of the year

County: Leitrim Conor Beirne only good when no pressure is on him, he never was fit and lucky to be in right place to get scores, more luck than talent but then you need both

Smokie (Leitrim) - Posts: 146 - 12/12/2013 19:01:34    1523201

Is Conor Beirne even going to be with the panel next year does anyone know? It will be very interesting to see what new faces are playing in the FBD league in January, hopefully we will have a strong enough group to get promotion from division 4.

The fbd will only be a trial run jimmy

That's all it is for anyone else

Few tough games ahead in division 4 Antrim will be hard crossed as will the Munster teams

We need 12 points and a high scoring margin and we need to get to the division 4 final and win it

Second place isn't good enough

Playing division 3 being runner's up in division 4 is a dead cert

No prizes for second place
