Really looking forward to tomorrow's game especially after last weeks second half performance it will give our lads a boost of confidence so should be a tight and tough encounter. Hopefully the weather calms down and won't impact it as much. Hope a good Westmeath crowd will travel as well for this derby

Roscommon could have won by 15 points today
Need to regroup for the next game

Easily our worst display of the league, at least in Cavan we played well for 40 mins, Rossies looked sharper, stronger and had a good plan. Nine points at the interval was always too big a lead and we never threatened to make a real contest of it. Other results today didn't help with Kildare and Clare now on four points. Clare the real danger here as they should reach six points. Five is unlikely to be enough to stay in Div 2.

Considering Westmeath is really in essence only a town, we are punching well above our weight in Div2 against counties.

You can't be from westmeath with that comment....Besides, Westmeaths best results have been against more highly populated counties in Clare and Armagh, their worst was against less populated counties in cavan and roscommon..

Results reflect the work that has been done in each county at underage level and grassroots.
Results reflect the talent within each county.
Results reflect the motivation within each team/county, given every province is represented in division 2 there is a huge difference in levels of motivation as each team have different realistic chances of winning silverware.
Results reflect the Manager.

Clare's football population would be amongst the lowest in all four divisions and Fermanagh's unquestionably in the bottom two considering their population and religious split within the county. Ridiculous post.

Roscommon have been regularly beating Galway and Mayo at underage for 15+ years and at adult level for 4/5 years so I don't know why people here have been talking them down.
They were favourites to go back up to division 1.

Anyway, onto Westmeath. We just don't have 25-30 good enough players to get up to division 1. You need better players coming off the bench with 20 mins to go to win a game.
And the culture of winning and preparation isn't there from underage county teams, schools teams or players going onto third level and getting into good teams with quality players.
A few progressive clubs have been driving most of the excellence within the county. That goes for both codes

Never forget, Westmeath has two sprawling metropoleis, in Mullingar and Athlone. The split in the big ball code in the south of the county and the smaller ball code in the north of the county also makes it more difficult. Both balls are fighting for control of the same space. I wouldn't be too uptight though. It's better if people let it hang a bit looser and choose which ball they like better, the big one or the small one. Offaly has shown you can have success with both balls in the GAA so why can't we have success too?

This wist guy is just a Mullingar wind up merchant ignore him.The Laois game is huge for us hopefully the lads can put in a great seventy minutes and make sure we stay in division 2.

Agreed.
I hope our CB delegate to central council didn't vote for this
