Geoffrey is still involved coaching underage with his club Dungiven. i see Fermanaghs Seamus Quigley is being touted as the next Geoffrey! With this new no square ball rule, there could be room for a big man at the edge of the square to cause mayhem! I've noticed joe diver is playing full forward for Bellaghy and has scored two goals in two games could this be a plan b for Brennan? Throw big joe all of 6ft 5 and 18 stone in the small box and god knows what could happen!

Bring Geoffrey outta retirement as one great commentator once said "he had feet like a ballet dancer "

A question for you. How many senior championship games did Geoff play for Derry? And I mean started, not coming on as sub.

He was more of a hurling man than a football man though was he?By that i mean,he played longer for the Derry hurlers as opposed to just now and then with the footballers?Or am i wrong, hope someone can confirm as i was a big fan of the man when ever i seen him playing.

Fergie you would be absolutely correct, only played a handful of senior football championship intercounty games for Derry, but in the hurlering he was a main stay fixture on the team over many years. Hadn't the mobility or speed for football, but he had seriously power and skill. But a much better hurler then footballer. That aside he was a great club footballer.

seem to remember big geoff years ago stepping up to take a penalty think it was armagh or down it was against failed to lift the ball poroperly but swung on it as it bounced off the ground and nearly put it out through the net he hit it so well great big man in his day hurling wise remember little of him playing football but square ball rule might help him now though

Didnt he set up Brolly for the winning goal in 97?

I wouldnt watch Derry hurling much, but I remember the day we run offally close in Croke Park (probably around the end of the 90's) where he actually missed a few frees at vital times for us.

All the same though, the most entertaining footballer Ive ever watched.
