Replying To Marooned:  "I don't post very much at all really but somehow you singled me out for an unnecessary dig. Next time play the ball and not the man and make a contribution other than dragging the forum into the gutter. There's a good lad."
You rarely post? That's very very evident. I never singled anyone out, never mentioned your name. I am happy that you have learned your lesson, was quite unfair on the young players.

Replying To galway2015:  "The team they were due to play (Kilkerrin Clonberne) were notified by county board that Moycullen Senior Manager had contacted them to say there was a genuine risk with some of their players due to close contact with a positive case & that they would be unable to travel as a result. County Board were left with no choice but to cancel game to be fair to them. It is surprising that the club haven't communicated further on this as it is a serious issue."
Thanks for the info. I saw the game was called off very last minute.

Time to call it off, what's the point in playing if there isn't anyone at the games and there is no all Ireland's to contest.
Corrofin will walk it so what's the point.
MB spiddal caherlistrane and milltown will be delighted

Spiral will put it up to salthill

Tuam will be too cute for claregalway. Nice team but lack killer edge. Tuam will wear them down

Ougterard and James will go to wire

With the new restrictions now in place with only 15 people allowed in outdoor space how can any match or training take place there definitely won't be any inter county this year most cases are in indoor spaces so they close outdoor events u coukd not make it up ,,I woukd imagine Gaa will issue statement at some stage soon but listening to new rules can't see how any matches can take place at all

Could be wrong but I think there are individual rules for gaa so training can go ahead . I think we might get the club championship finished even though corofin will win id still like to see ot go ahead

Fairplay....the GAA is asking for evidence to back up the new restrictions.

It's so disappointing, and seems utter madness that this nonsense is not being overruled by the government.

Have faith I dont believe the gaa would challenge it if there was evidence to support more restrictions.

If there is evidence fair enough health of the nation is more important but I've a feeling there isnt.

I highly doubt there are too many Dail ministers who spend time in their local club. A lot of smaller rural clubs might only have 18-20 lads/girls training midweek. So what do they do? Tell the excess to go home?!!
Going to support the local club team was the only time a lot of people were getting a chance to meet up and god forbid have a bit of craic. Why not make it compulsory to wear masks at games?
Are parents going to have to wait outside the gate (probably in a car park where they will stand and chat) at underage games?
Next thing there will be an accident from someone climbing a tree or a fence or standing on the bucket of a digger trying to watch matches from outside.
Brainless God love them

Just wondering , does anyone know how referees are assigned to matches ? Is it right that ref can be calling players by nicknames in matches ? Like they know must know them fairly well to be calling them by their nicknames ? Surely some decisions are biased lead

Agree. Was at a match at weekend where ref has strong connections with one club. I dont think he intended to be biased., but he interpreted all of the marginal calls ( and 1 or 2 not so marginal) in the same direction. I think its only natural , hence refs need to be selected with independence.
