Cue a 5 month period of talking up Wicklow's chances, getting everyone believing we can pull off the upset before Meath run away with an easy 6-7 point victory never getting out of 3rd gear.
deja vu

If I were you's I'd be happy enough with that draw lads, all you's have to do is put up a real fight and we're in trouble, the fighting spirit and talent is long since gone out of Meath football.

With johnny magee at the helm and his brother darren nd ray Cosgrove as selectors they would no bit bout meath nd I wudnt write us off yet but if we want ny chance of pulling 1 over them we need keep graham reilly quite he was d difference d last 2 times we met them he scored 6 points in each game and subsequently the losing margin was 5 so if we keep him quite im guessing we wo nt b 2 far away

Good draw. Straight to Quarter finals. Avoided Dublin. Any team in that half of draw will fancy themselves.
Will the match be played in Aughrim

Wicklowrunner, they might meet Tyrone in Aughrim yet!

More than likely as that's the Ulster Draw for 15 & 16.

The year is building up. They can set their stall out early in the year and concentrate on promotion. With promotion will follow a D4 final in Croke Park. From this high, they will have about 8 weeks to prepare for s QF against Meath who are certainly beatable. If they could get them to Aughrim, Meath would be under the pressure.

They can look forward to a Leinster semi in Croke Park again. People were saying earlier that a Leinster semi was a pipe dream. But if McGee and co could achieve this in Year one then things would be really set up for a successful season.

Jack L if you're going to come on here and try wind people up, please spell the name of our new manager name correctly.

I am a hab- I couldn't agree with you more.......

Good luck in the league next year. hopefully you make it to div 3 again. look forward to doing battle with you again next year, hopefully in navan. And i'm not having a go but you've put us to the sword the last 2 times we met. In aughrim a freak goal gave us a much needed cushion and in dr cullen park you were 5 or 6 points up on us in 2012 at one stage.

Is there a home/away arrangement in place. If so the match is in Navan.

Jack L up to your usual trying to build the lads up for a fall. The squad are now in a period of transition with new players coming on board to replace a lot of seasoned campaigners who are retiring. This is not a bad thing and I believe that given time we will with the help of young players emerging from academy that we can look forward to being competitive. We should not put pressure on these lads and the new management to achieve instant success. The process may take up to 3 years. It is all well and good getting a bye to the quarter finals but any talk of winning that game and getting promoted to Div 3 on year 1 is not helpful.

If I had seen this draw in the 2009-2012 period, I would have been excited that Wicklow could dream about making it to a Leinster final but now, it is hard to see how we can make it past Meath. We have a new unproven manager and a squad where a number of high quality and highly experienced individuals have retired namely Tony Hannon and Leighton Glynn - it will take a period of time and a lot of work to replace the calibre of these players. I think that the forthcoming league campaign will tell us how we are shaping up - if you want to compete with Meath in a Leinster championship campaign you would have to be getting promoted from Division 4 - the step up to playing a Division 2 team that have contested competitively a number of Leinster finals in recent years while remaining in Division 4 is for me a step too far but come May hopefully we will have gained promotion and that the squad is coming together - time will tell but at the moment, no players nor member of their management team in Meath will be shaking in their boots.
