Tyrone Senior Championship

(Oldest Posts First)

Championship is a two horse race now between Omagh and Dromore, can't see a winner from the other two. Was in dunmoyle and Carmen shouldn't even be in the final, the referree was the worst i've seen for a long time and by the way I'm neutral. Conor Gormley should have been given at least 2 yellows + at least 2 black cards. Not often you see the press comment as much on the refs performance but every paper on Monday morning concentrated on this ref. I think augher should feel aggrieved and it will be of little consolation to them that they had the outstanding player in the championship so far in Aidan Cassidy, he gave an exhibition of football and is one of the few players I would pay in to see.

Cassidy was superb up until the last 10 minutes. I know he got hurt by a conor gormley challenge which I can't believe went unpunished but surely in last 10 mins, even on 1 leg after the game he had you stay in the mix at midfield and try and get in the way. Carmen very very lucky as previous poster said gormley should have been black carded before half time, ref absolutely bottled it.

Thought number 6 for Augher was the stand out player, can someone tell me who he was

It's no surprise that Conor Gormley wasn't shown any cards he gets away with everything on the pitch but if it happened to be another player it would have been a completely different outcome. As for the county final I think Omagh will win as long they don't get sucked into Carrickmores style of football which we all know is just to drag you down an stop you from playing any kind of football whatsoever. Any word on what is the curtain raiser is to this years final?

Nonsense redmeanie...do you go to football? Carrickmore have probably the most gifted forwards of any team in the county but teams always play 7-8 defenders against them. Not once this year have i seen a team try and play with 6 defenders against 6 forwards against them. On the other hand Carrickmore play with 6 conventional defenders .If a team wants to mix it they can mix it too

Yes I go to plenty of football every week. If they have 6 of the most gifted forwards in the county like you claim why are they siting with just 7 points to show for this in the league and there score for is down among the worst in the league. I will give it to them they have a never quit attitude that's why they keep getting as far on in the championship as they do. I just think if Omagh get to play football in the final they should win it hands down but stranger things have happened.

D oyou really think the current league position is a reflection of where they really are? How many frees did Conor Gormley get against Ardboe....none and he should have had plenty. But keep it coming

conor spent 6 mins on the ground with a broken leg but managed to finish the game mcconnell opted out of removing him to the sideline contolled any momentum ardboe built. sorry but i think your league position is reflective. you will now have to bust your ass to stay up.

Cant believe the abuse Carrickmore are getting on here, everyone knows that come championship every year Carrickmore can always raise their game. They are always competitive and every team knows they are in for a game if they draw Carrickmore. This year onece again they have raised their game and once again have made the final and fair play to them. We played them last year in the final and the game was competitive throughout after the game they were sportmsmen to the core and congratulated us on our victory. That cant be said about all teams in Tyrone. Good luck to carrickmore in the final i hope you win it.

We are down to the last two teams so who is everyone's predictions to win the 2014 O'Neill Cup? I personally think Omagh will win it but won't be surprised if Carrickmore won it as they are a club that you can never write them off when it comes championship time.
