NFL vs Laois

(Oldest Posts First)

Any views on our prospects in Div 2 this year?A tough start against Laois & looks like we will need to win at least 3-4 games to stay up.What are the chances of 3 promotions on the bounce!!!sum achievement if we did!!!Hopefully a good start Sat nite against a Laois team who didnt do well in the O'Byrne Cup but still a very strong out-fit.With the likes of Armagh , Meath , Kildare , Down , Donegal & Westmeath also in the mix its going to be tough but interesting & exactly the type of oppostion we need with the mammoth task of defeating the All-Ireland Champions in the Championship.I think if Tipp avoid the drop Kerry will know not to take us light.Fair play to John Evans & the panel of players & also the County Board for the new 10 year plan.Nice to see they are promoting the game at least.

Think we'll need to beat Laois and Westmeath and hope to nick a couple of points elsewhere. Big ask but we can stay up I think. Three promotions on the bounce is probably be asking too much.

Will any of the Laois team be suspended after the brawl with Kildare? We're probably the favourites for the drop but then we were last year too. If we avoid relegation it would be a good achievement.

hopefully if we can beat laois, down and westmeath we might give ourselves a chance. it would be a huge achievement if we could stay up

I'm confident that we can survive in division two.Tipp are playing good football under Evans and are progressing all the time. All they need now is our support.

I'm confident we'll stay up. We shouldnt fear anyone but at the same we cant go thinking we're superstars either! Progress is good and staying up is realistic. Fair play Evans and co.

Agree about Laois and Westmeath but Down will be a different animal this year with Clarke back and a good U21 side from last year. I kinda expect them to challenge in Ulster.

well lads, many of ye planning on making the journey to portlaoise this saturday? laois have been playin badly these past two years and are severely under strength for this match, with suspensions, injuries, and all the portlaoise players all out. still both teams will want to make a mark on the first league game so could be a great game. im hoping for a laois win but expect a draw or a narrow defeat.

A very bad first half killed us off but we did well to claw back & at least be level & in with a shout. If we get over the slow starts & hit the ground running I feel that we wont be beaten easy & only losing by 2 points but a tad worried as Laois were really under strenght. We had 3 good fella's missing too that would be normally scoring men.

Yeah they did the exact same against Limerick and Sligo in their championship defeats last year. They'd want to sort that out. They lost their first match last year in Division 3. Lets hope they can bounce back again this year but on the downside I think Kildare are up next. I'd imagine they'll be reeling after a trimming by Down yesterday.

We need to win our home matches to have a chance of avoid relegation, 6 points should do it. Fingers crossed it would be great to see.
