Any names anyone would lile to throw out there or even anyone you think could potentially be good enough? I think the standard of antrim club football is a lot higher than some people presume boman11 (Antrim) - Posts: 237 - 07/11/2019 13:31:38 2248295 Link 0 |
Also worth mentioning that Matt Fitzpatrick amd Ryan Murray wont be involved this year.. definitely room for more fresh blood boman11 (Antrim) - Posts: 237 - 07/11/2019 15:10:52 2248327 Link 0 |
Good to see new boys called up and it's an exciting squad I would have liked to have seen Colm Fleming, Declan Dunne and Ciaran Bradley in the squad they've all had brilliant seasons. Fitzy and Ryan will be a big miss.

Ciaran Bradley was one I would have almost been certain of for this year, and his clubmate Jamie Gribbin has had a great year aswell. Both off the back of a very impressive last season aswell. boman11 (Antrim) - Posts: 237 - 13/12/2019 11:25:47 2254637 Link 0 |
I'm guessing from the Instagram posts the 2 Goalkeepers will be Oisin Kerr and Andrew Hasson 2 good keepers but I'd love to see Aaron Slane from Davitts given a shot even in the McKenna Cup, I'm not a Davitts man but he's the best keeper I've seen this year and I've watched everyone, made about 4 point blank saves, saved a penalty and was knocking 50m frees over like they were nothing and he does it every game apparently

agree with you on Slane, he had a stand out season for an inconsistent enough side. from what I have seen he is a very good shot stopper and seems to be stroking over 45's and frees with ease as you said. I would like to see more division 2 players given a chance, there's some real quality in a few of the top end div 2 sides, and tbh I think there's a few players on our county panel that are there on reputation, having watched plenty of club football this year there were a few that were nothing special at all. boman11 (Antrim) - Posts: 237 - 14/12/2019 10:51:09 2254803 Link 0 |
I seen you said about Seamus McGarry quality player but I'm almost certain he was out with a bad injury for most of the year :(

last year this was, bad hamstring injury followed by a broken hand but he has been back to top form this year for Aldergrove shooting the lights out. Instrumental in their IFC success this year.

Do you know the McKenna cup squad?

not the exact squad yet but I am led to believe that there are now 8 LD boys involved, PC, Marc Jordan, Owen Mckeown and Ben Rice the new blood there. There was recent call ups for aswell for Conor Small of Creggan, Peter Healy of St Endas, McAleese and Convery of Portglenone, Eamon Fyfe of Glenravel and Tomas McCann back in the fold for the new year boman11 (Antrim) - Posts: 237 - 16/12/2019 09:14:21 2255086 Link 0 |
PC and Tomas are obvs there for firepower up front and frees but its interesting that Lenny has called up alot of players who are absolutely rapid across the ground probably the quickest in the county which we'll need to break the lines against sides who'll just sit in against us in the league

wonder what his plans will be for Tomas and PC, wondering will he throw them both right back in and hope that they still produce or will he ease them back In. Some serious young quick talent involved this year. It looks good to me, definitely excited to see how these changes can benefit us in the league. ITs a must that we get ourselves out of division 4 soon.

I think their is no excuses 4 home games at Glenavy and 3 away to London, Wicklow and Sligo ... Stevie Poacher is a big loss to Carlow and I don't rate Paul Galvin as a manager for Wexford and we should be beating everyone else tbh like I said no excuses

Good to see a Meath man throwing his lot in with Antrim. This lad Gardiner from Simonstown Gaels is a very good footballer. Can only help Antrim Talking_Sense (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 06/01/2020 01:54:33 2257656 Link 0 |
Yes I seen this on Sunday vs Fermanagh, his name was on the team sheet. Every addition for Antrim at this stage is a positive one, although the experience of playing outside of Antrim in different and quite possibly better club competitions should surely bring something extra to the squad.

good win yesterday, a few players coming up with big performances that was well needed for them. Ruairi McCann at full forward had an excellent game, Good to see PC back with 0-6 as well. Lynch and Peter Healy also with good games in the half back line. boman11 (Antrim) - Posts: 237 - 27/01/2020 09:04:26 2262772 Link 0 |

A 25 point hammering in Wicklow conceding 7 goals when we were well in the mix for promotion. M Lyster (Antrim) - Posts: 432 - 17/10/2020 14:33:37 2298371 Link 1 |
Shocking result! I dont even know what to say after seeing that scoreline. Against a division one side that would be ridiculous enough but against another division four side and you really do have to ask where we go from here! No mistaking what division we belong in at least!
