I would be confident that if the Kildare match was played this weekend in better conditions Down would win. The last two years defeats in the league finals were an embarrassment especially against Armagh in Dundalk. I would be confident enough that if this current management team is given the chance then promotion is achievable in the next two years. Let them work through their plans for the three years and if no success then time for a change but not on the result of a match in horrendous conditions when all other games around them were cancelled due to the weather. pmack (Down) - Posts: 44 - 07/03/2019 11:53:00 2170830 Link 0 |

I think pmac ur gettin to much involved in weather conditions,it was the same for kildare, simple fact is we are too small to compete with bigger team in heavy weather,so we need to have a game plan or system put in place to counter act it crannumber2 (Down) - Posts: 334 - 08/03/2019 14:08:34 2171081 Link 0 |
I don't know enough to comment on whether the set up is better or not. I hear the lads are very happy with the coach yes but also that he was sacked by liatroim & Monaghan after 1 year. That doesn't inspire me if I'm honest & while the management staying to the end of games is definitely a bonus I do think previous management had much more experience.

They aren't needed or more would be playing. I prefer it that way as too many on the county panel reek havoc with the club training. It's good that there's a bigger spread of clubs contributing to the county team. bricktop (Down) - Posts: 2479 - 20/03/2019 16:20:00 2173995 Link 0 |

County can't train in April, club month and all that. Gives Paudie Sull time to go see some senior hurling games in the Ards. bricktop (Down) - Posts: 2479 - 17/04/2019 10:23:13 2179248 Link 0 |

Played Armagh in a friendly on Wednesday night, hammered them but had 15 players and fielded with 14 in the second half... worrying times ahead??
