Start of a new year, same rivalries. should be a good year of football a head as a lot of games were close last year....... early verdicts for a laugh so we can look back and see how wrong we were.....

Mine is Glen Rovers - if they can keep the interest there.......

It's early season don't think anybody in Watford will worry to much, I know they could not field last week but it's Easter and all that. Championships are not won in April.

I reckon Paddy Power would not be looking to employ you daskip? From what I have seen and heard this season my betting would be - Cambridge 4/5, Eire Og 3/1, Colmcilles 4/1, Glen Rovers 5/1, Dympna's 20/1, Joe's 50/1. Cambridge have been the best footballing side in the county so far. Eire Og have a good team and great togetherness and are making a big push for the title this year. Colmcilles will be in the semi final and will always be a difficult team to beat. Glen Rovers have lost some big players this year and have an ageing side so i don't know if the hunger will be there. Dympna's are not the team that they were last year and have already been beat so they will have it all to do against Eire Og. Joe's will be there to compete. My outside bet would be Colmcilles!

Cambridge look like the early favourites, hard to make a call on Eire Og they managed to only get 11 lads together for a game at the weekend not the best prep for championship they will have the momentum though playing this weekend and the following so Rovers may struggle with lack of game time!

Dympnas will struggle this year, all depends what Eire Og team turns up! Rovers have lost some players but they have replaced them too, they started slow this year but the new players seem to be fitting in, not sure about an ageing team though seemed fit enough agains Dympnas and they know how to win, they will be involved at the business end again as will St. Albans!

I would not be so sure as to write Dympnas off. They lost last week with a lot of lads missing through injury but if they get them back i can see them getting a result down in Oxford. If they do then that leaves Oxford having to go to Watford to get a result which wont be easy..Other side of the draw is pretty straight forward with Cambridge and St Albans playing for top spot. Both have not had much success over the last few seasons so it will be new territory if they make the final.. Watford V St Albans final is my shout..

Luton going to Oxford puts them in a tough spot this weekend Oxford will be favourites. So then Oxford and Watford will be playing for top spot. I see a Watford Watford win. So Watford 1st Oxford 2nd.

Other group first and second already sorted with Cambridge beating Saint Albans.

That gives us semi finals of Oxford v Cambridge and Watford v Saint Albans

Watford v Cambridge Final.

I look forward to being proven right over next few weeks.

interesting draw it pans out, wouldnt be so sure though! Watford just can never seem to get the better of St. Albans, they would have preferred Cambridge and let someone else deal with St. Albans!

sounded like a tight game yesterday! Eire Og to push on and win that group now should the same team turn up this weekend, tough semi finals for all involved, hard to call!
