One of the four masters players was the manager who named himself because some lads couldn't travel. Don't think you can argue with the other two.

I see that all the leagues are complete , it seems to have been a success with the new structures , will there be definate relegation / promotion based on the league standings or will the championship determine who stays in each division?

It has been a success for the most part although it is disappointing to see that no dates have been annouced for the league finals. They could easily have been played this weekend and have the whole thing finished off good and early. All three divisions were relatively competitive although it is disappointing to see Brendans and Sons of Erin give walkover in the last couple of rounds in Division 2, bit unfair on Four Masters that St Mary's pipped them to second place and a spot in the league final due to getting a walkover off Sons of Erin rather than having to win in Northampton.

But it is good to see all teams getting competitive games and it should lead to a good championship

Well done to the Warwickshire Team on the win then , whose next in line for them? Good mix of lads from the senior clubs than previous years and hopefully they can all be available for the next round plus still a few more who could get in the panel.
Battles, who else from Leicester, St Marys, Sons and St Brendans would make the County Team? You cant dispute the lad from Leicester not being worthy of a place and the 2 FM players are good players too and if other lads didnt want to travel fair play to them for making themselves available.

The leagues have worked well but as suggested, no county game this weekend would have been perfect for the 3 finals?

Onlymessing The CB deliberately left the weekend free of fixtures to enable clubs to support the. Coley Folan Tournament.

Good win today for Warwickshire, came good in the second half. Some timely saves by the keeper.

A good win for the county yesterday. The forward line looks about as strong as there is, a change in midfield and a couple of backs would produce a very good side. Who do they play next week?

Good to see a lot of homegrown players getting a chance and standing out for the county team this year

no mention of the Reilly cup final on here this week. Shows how ridiculous it is to put finals on a friday as most people will probably have missed the best game of the year so far with Mitchels and Casements drawing 1-11 to 0-14. An excellent game of football that was a great advertisment for the game. Mitchels on top in first half and were up by two points. However casements came back well in second half and were two points up in injury time. Mitchels looked to have won it with a goal from garvey until with the last kick of the game keogh sent over a sideline ball from the 45 to level the game. Looking forward to the replay of this one. Shows how tight championship could be this year.

Couldn't agree more Tommy G. Plus it was good to finally see 2 heavyweights in Warwickshire go head to head without incident, i.e Referee's getting abused! Top game from 2 very good sides.

Where did it go wrong yesterday then? I thought Scotland seemed to be on a different level fitness wise and the Warks half forwards couldn't handle the Scotland half back line. The management seemed too slow to make changes in the second half as well.

Finally the championship is upon us. How do lads see it going? I presume there will be some shadow boxing in the group stages seeing as we will have 5 rounds of games in essence to elimate one side from the mix. Who is likely to win the Senior B and Intermediate?

Very quiet on here considering the action the weekend! great game between the champions and champions elect, with only a point separating them. Considering mitchels changes to personnel over the summer, still look like the team to beat!

I agree excellent championship game at the weekend was a pleasure to watch. Two good footballing sides and credit to the referee who was excellent. Only a kick of a ball between the two sides and a draw was probably a fair result.Much higher quality than the game that followed after. Both sides still looked like they were missing a couple of players so would be interesting if they meet again.

I think it was 4-7 to 1-8. Can anyone explain why go braghs best forward playing at centre half back? Also three new faces on the macs team - they always seem to be able to pull a few new boys in come championship.

Don't think the homegrown lads will be too happy about that!
