In the middle of a global pandemic in which more than 2000 people have died in the country, a club decides not to field a team in the interest of public health in a match that makes no material differnce to anyone in the group. Shameful, shocking, disgraceful....

A synical decision not to play so to avoid any injury or suspension before a crunch relegation game. But did anyone think it would be against Clontribret #karma . Didn't field against Donaghmoyne in an u13 final last year either. Poor form.

Seen footage of it on social media, absolutely disgraceful scenes. We're all disappointed not being able to see our club play but the rules are the rules and they should be respected. To flout the rules is one thing but to flout them and pick a fight with players at the game is simply unjustifiable. I trust the county board will slap serious penalties on Latton. I also trust Latton will deal with the spectator in question internally. We're all guilty of getting excited at games but videos like that going viral around the country doesn't do Monaghan football any favours.

On the plus side, it was the worst game of the weekend so at least that incident provided some entertainment.

Clontibret have been well off the boil this year and haven't played close to their potential, so in that sense they can blame themselves really for the situation they find themselves in.

But having said that, the officiating yesterday was poor in my opinion, and the ref lost the handle on the game towards the end especially. As uninspiring as Clontibret were for the most part, even a draw would have been enough for them to get into the quarter final and escape the relegation battle they now find themselves in - so I'm sure they're a bit bewildered at how the end of the game went against them so badly at the very end.

Should be a bumper crowd in Inniskeen at the weekend. Rewarded by Co. Board for packing them in for first round game v Magheracloone. Ref in Clontibret yesterday was poor. On the numerous games I have seen him,he has not been great .

Ref was very badly treated after game by clontibert players and officials .
Dont like to see this , Clontibert were no saints on the field , were as cynical as could be .
Consistent fouling and the off the ball stuff was way over the top .
Inniskeen better team in second half fully deserved there win .
Think Clontibert just getting it hard to take this defeat .
Unfortunately for them they must now go and save there Senior status .

From what I seen, while Clontibret were no saints, Inniskeen were indulging in plenty of cynical fouling and off the ball stuff themselves. Was surprised none of their men saw the line with a black card earlier tbh. Worked out for them anyway, and regardless off the ref, Clontibret weren't good enough on the day. Though I wouldn't blame them for taking the defeat bad with the way it ended.

This weekends games are all been live-streamed by county board. Some firm from Munster doing it. Will cost 5 or 7 per match to view. Here we are on Thursday morning and not a detail kind on how it works or how to get access. Also number of venues have poor coverage ?..

What are the thoughts on the Doohamlet Blackhill game in the Intermediate, will it be an easy win for Doohamlet?

Big weekend , could see Donaghmoyne beating Latton and Clontibert surely will put blayney away .
On the other side could see Inniskeen taking another big scalp.
Magheracloone V Cmx tight one to call.
Perhaps CMX might get over the line .

We have had a similar process in place in Louth since the start of the championship. €6 a game and I have found it very good, shows replays and live commentary throughout the game and great quality. Hopefully monaghans is the same.

If the quality is good then I think the €6 is well worth it. Should probably be an option to buy a weekend pass though at a discounted value (maybe there is??)

I don't understand why the relegation playoffs are both being played at the same time on Saturday (2.30). Doesn't make any sense.

Results probably went as planned today, shock of the day had to be Blayney running clontibret so close. Clontibret will be glad to have this season finished with. Doohamlet were very lucky with black hill just too many wides. Didn't see the corduff game anyone fill me in?
