Shane Kavanagh has performed for club and county an full back centre back mid field snd now centre forward. He is easily the most gifted player carlow have produced in the last decade. To compare his skills to Edward Coady is a non runner. I admire Edward Coady tremendously but fitness and natural abitity are two very different things

I doubt Shane Kavanagh will still be hurling midfield with the county at 34

An idiotic comment.

Just a couple of things on the wex. game, we could have done better but we could have lost by more than 0-05, its going to take a bit of time for myler to get the team playing to the style he wants, the only down side to the game was conceeding a goal on the stroke of full time, theres more in this squad than was on offer last sunday.

I'm quite partial, I think you'll find, I just won't sit back with snide (and yes, idiotic) comments like that.

No I don't think he will play midfield at that age. But Dual's comment was designed to undermine the argument a few of us were having. It was idiotic because it has no relevance whatsoever to which player has been most important to Carlow in recent years.. Eddie playing there on Sunday doesn't make him a better player than Shane, nor more important.

If I was to stoop to that level, I would suggest that you'd be forgiven if you thought Eddie wasn't there at all on Sunday while Shane put in a man of the match performance for us.

Thats true St. John, was suprised there was no changes to mid field sunday. BTW how many players apart grom Kavanagh could play fullback cenre back mid field and centre forward?

Saint johnny. the outstanding performer on the field last sunday was hugh patrick o byrne. i will tell u whats wrong in this county was at the match last sunday and when the ball would go near a rangers man or a rangers player made a great catch or block there wasnt a word from ye down in yere section, but when a naomh moan man touced the ball ye would shout your heads off. myshall/kilbride/tullow/kildavin/ardattin/garryhill/fenagh or as ye call all of the latter Naomh Eoin wasnt playing it was Carlow the county team, so dont come on here and be all underhanded. the best hurler in carlow for the last 10 years is ed coady and before him was johnny nevin for 10 years and before him was paddy quirke of bagnelstown.

Go back through the comments st john and youll see that it's one of your own that's making snide remarks as always! Wexford papers all have their centre back as man of the match is how would our centre forward win it as well? Anyway HP o Byrne was the official man of the match and made the team of the week too.

SportsFanatic, grow up.

Dual, I said it was a man of the match performance for us. HP and him were our star performers, never mind what the Wexford papers say. Anyway, their CB was dropped back and cleared a lot of ball, but that wasn't off Shane.
