Mr. Pundit, I am eagerly awaiting your predictions for this week, please dont tip the rossies, I saw your post on the Fermanagh forum last week telling them they were going to beat us, maybe you should go on the Offaly forum and tell them they are not gone down yet, when they beat ros on sunday they will be right back in the hunt, please take me out of my misery and give us your predictions.

Wexford v Sligo: Wexford fighting for survival in d3, hard to believe they were contesting Leinster finals just a few years ago. I was impressed with Sligo against us last week, I'll go with Sligo by 3.

Ros v Offaly: Roscommon by 8. Form team in D3 right now. A win would more or less promote them.

Longford v Cavan: Massive game for us, win and we're up (barring bizarre results in the last 2 games.) Longford always raise their game against Cavan, so it will be our hardest test to date I'd imagine. But we have a lot at stake so I think we'll prevail by 2 or 3.

Limerick v Fermanagh: Draw

Leave DD10 alone he's been wrong virtually every week and long may it continue ( I see him as our lucky charm at this stage).

Can't wait for his championship predictions.

Elsewhere on Hogan Stand, there's a report that the Quigley brothers have left the Fermanagh panel again. If that's true, then Limerick's chances, with home advantage, look much better.

Ned, not sure why you think longford always raise their game. For the last few years they've just been a better team. They would have been expected to win most of the recent games. Nobody was surprised when they hammered cavan in the qualifiers a couple of years ago. That's all changed now. Cavan should beat this Longford team by at least 6 points. Both their midfielders were out injured the last day and they're already down mcelvaney who's the best midfielder in the county. If they go in to Sunday with their 4th and 5th choice midfielders it could be a lot more than 6.

How do you figure that McElvanney is the best midfielder in the country at present??

I'm not expecting anything easy against our neighbours tomoro. Offaly are fighting for their lives and their forwards will have plenty of joy against our less than tight defence. Offaly's biggest defeat was 6 points against Cavan so i think our game could be closer than some expect.

Longford v Cavan - could go either way but Cavan have promotion in their sights now and that could be enough
Limerick v Fermanagh - Not sure where the Fermanagh scores will come from having lost their two main scorers? home win i reckon
Wexford v Sligo - Wexford in poor form and hard to know with Sligo at the best of times a draw maybe?

Well there we have it, Div 3 between Roscommon and Cavan, both promoted today. Both teams comprehensively ahead of the rest of the division. That leaves the Cavan v Ros game a dead rubber, so it will be interesting to see whether both teams rest players for the last 2 games. Offaly will go down, but it's between 5 teams Longford, Sligo, Limerick, Wexford and Fermanagh to see who will join them.

Another terrific win for the rossies with a mighty performance against Offaly and winning promotion to div 2 of the league. That was our target at the start of the year and its done and dusted, a credit to all involved.I was at all 5 league matches and Roscommon were refreshing to watch with their new style of first time attacking football. Anyone who underrates Roscommon this year will be in for a big shock as they are fit to give anyone a game, its a credit to the players and management that they stuck to their tesk and can now relax and release the u21 players. Our game with Cavan is now a dead rubber as both teams have been promoted. We have a divisional final to look forward to in Croke Park and I am really looking forward to that day out. Come on the Rossies

giveballaghback what are the crowds like at your games this year? Is the county getting behind the team?

Home crowds have been poor for Roscommon this season, possibly averaging 1500 and no sign of the growing bandwagon arriving despite increasingly impressive displays. Bit strange given the merest whiff of success, we tend to come out in large numbers.

In contrast we brought around 2000 supporters to Castlebar for a mid-week u-21 prelim Connacht Chsp game last Wednesday.

I fancied Longford for the win today but it wasn't to be. Well done on the promotion to Cavan and Roscommon
