Only heard of one or two of those players. I think the players we were missing are a lot better than any of those Cavan boys you mentioned.

Exciting finish to the league season down in Wexford next week. Wexford v Longford. Winner stays up, loser goes down. Draw and Longford stay up. What way will it go? Wexford by 4 for me.

He only came on for the last minute or so however Cathal Cregg is to Roscommon what Cian Mackey is to Cavan. The nonsense talk on here about a dead rubber game is er.. nonsense. I hope the final is better game and both sides can field close to their strongest sides however both have secured promotion and all the matters now is staying up in div 2 next year TBH it will be difficult for both.

im damn sure neither manager is bothered about the div 3 final. they want to test and improve their panel. i dont know why the gaa see fit to have "LEAGUE" finals. Cavan have finished top and have won div 3. end of story.

I beg to differ. I would suggest that both Managers will treat this Div 3 League Final as if its their
first Championship match and rightly so,Both sides will be as near full strength as is possible.

That makes sense to me, as it's the last chance for both teams to get a good competitive game in before the Championship begins, with the added bonus of a trophy as well. Saturday was shadowboxing and probably told Roscommom a lot about their extended panel, where as Cavan already knew a lot about theirs as we've had to deal with a ton of injuries in this league campaign (and still won all six games).

Nonsense. Both us were promoted after 5 games if a league was to be won on who finishes top i doubt our manager would be making 9 changes last Saturday night.

If it were a real league we would have home and away fixtures. In the late 90s early 00s we finished top of div one maybe going by your logic i should ring up the GAA HQ and ask for the league titles we won.

Oh dear, another one who doesn't understand the concept of a "LEAGUE"

s goldrick did you come down in the last shower or something? the 'league' has 2 spots for promotion and relegated the top two in div 2,3,4 play in the league final and div one has semi finals has been that way for years. Look at soccer its called the champions league!

As i said already if your logic was true then we (Roscommon) won div one titles when we finish top of the table around a decade ago.

Sgoldrick, you were saying the same thing on the Cavan thread too. Ask any of the Cavan players or management and they will take you they want the league title. A great boost ahead of the championship. Look at Monaghan winning division 3 last year as an example.

Expecting a good game here saturday night, With Roscommon playing without their u21's i wonder will Cavan play their's? Two contracting styles of plays with Cavan playing a very defensive styke compared with the attacking play of Roscommon. The bookies have Cavan favourite but i predict a Rossie win with the big open pitch in Croker will suit Ros style of play better as it will be harder for Cavan close the space down in front of goal

Ah the "big open spaces of Croke Park" myth rears its head again I see. The pitch is almost identical in size to Breffni. (2m longer and 1.5m wider)

yes the usual cliches coming out. :).
Not sure if Cavan will play their under-21s either. I will say this will be a bit of a non-event, to be honest

It wont be a non event. I think that Cavan are in good shape. They have kept many of their players fresh all thru the league, and winning in croke park is somehting that neither ross or cavan have done in a very long time. That is something to play for, ie getting a win there will be better than 10 challenge games before the championship.
