After county final, county split in 4 and 4 amalgamated teams play 3 round robin games. Top 2 play in final and bottom 2 in shield final so all get 4 games. Allows players at Junior/Intermediate to play at higher standard. Would below be fair teams? North - Manor, Melvin, Osnats, Glenfarne, Dromahair, Drumkeerin South - Mohill, Eslin, Bornacoola, Cloone, Gortletteragh, Annaduff West - Ballinaglera, Allen, Leitrim, Mary's, Kiltubrid, Fenagh East - Aughavas, Carrigallen, Ballinamore, Aughawillan, Aughnasheelan, Drumreilly b.o.b. The new Laois manager is a Kerry man and down in Kerry they have always had divisional teams entering their senior champ which allows intermediate and junior players play at a higher standard and also giving these players a chance to win a senior champ medal. leitrim4sam (Leitrim) - Posts: 475 - 21/09/2018 13:49:26 2143155 Link 0 |
Yes and it would improve the county championship standard significantly. Confine the senior championship to top 7 clubs (or 9 at a push) and 3 divisional sides made of the best of the rest. It would also give intermediate (and the odd junior player) the opportunity the play in the SFC.
