Defence all over the place, full back way too slow, centre half non existant. Awful!!! crafty (Galway) - Posts: 183 - 18/10/2020 14:39:52 2298723 Link 2 |
Two older players conroy and odonnell only ones not embarrassing themselves here. steakknife (Galway) - Posts: 18 - 18/10/2020 14:42:37 2298725 Link 2 |
Galway a disgrace. Forget about injuries as both teams have them, it's 15 v 15. S.A in huge trouble. Joyce saying in his comments before game he got Jim McG down to increase mental Etc. Where is it. Get the priorities right ie tell lads you can't give ball straight back to goalie. Mayo looks the more hungry, I wonder was Jim in castlebar also. Where are the u21 lads who got to AI u21 final a couple of years ago. Don't tell me Galway are concentrating on championship cause as PJ said this could be last game for some time. Half time it's damage limitation and I hope I'm wrong but don't see that going well for Galway. Toman (Galway) - Posts: 622 - 18/10/2020 14:45:24 2298728 Link 0 |

Sadly there are a few players on that panel who need to be dropped. Just don't have it and have been there long enough at this stage. Mayfair (Galway) - Posts: 54 - 18/10/2020 15:22:40 2298742 Link 2 |

Very very worrying. We seem to be miles off. Hope it's a smoke screen. handpassking (Galway) - Posts: 363 - 18/10/2020 15:30:28 2298750 Link 1 |
There have been few days where I have felt utterly embarrassed and this is one. We look like a junior team at best. Mayo are running through us for fun. We are physically way off, tactically shocking. A goalkeeper that is a calamity. We are way off Mayo and four weeks wont fix it. I have been up looking at the training and it is lack lustre. Mayo are a professional outfit way ahead of us. We conceded 32 points!! Sorry lads but that is a disgrace Nogoal (Galway) - Posts: 30 - 18/10/2020 15:37:55 2298752 Link 2 |
I hope Galway have a better Goalkeeper who can actually kick the ball out and not do a "Rene Higutia" running out of his Goals flapping about like a headless chicken! katser (Galway) - Posts: 1154 - 18/10/2020 15:41:12 2298755 Link 1 |
That's very true the only two that stood up. We're in big trouble. We don't seem to have a defensive or kickout strategy at all. Mayo backs strolling up the pitch not tracked. Ball delivered in, backs behind the man and then a foul when they're taken on. We're goosed galwayman2 (Galway) - Posts: 822 - 18/10/2020 15:42:43 2298756 Link 1 |
Great win for mayo, first year on panel for following players who all played today - Mullen, McBrien, mcLoughlin, Moran, conroy, Walsh, O'hora, O'Donoghue and Flynn. Great to get the win with such a young panel. Mfs (Mayo) - Posts: 223 - 18/10/2020 15:44:01 2298758 Link 1 |
Genuinely looks like "Catch and Kick" is as far as our tactical plan goes. 15 of 30 of our own kickouts won. Thats Junior C level stuff. kazoochka (Galway) - Posts: 330 - 18/10/2020 15:55:50 2298760 Link 3 |
Galway will improve for the Dublin game if it goes ahead next week, but look, congrats to Mayo today maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1061 - 18/10/2020 16:03:02 2298764 Link 0 |
Yup and everyone calling for o donnell to hang up his boots yet our last championship match where we also played mayo o'Donnell was the only one to take the fight to them Mgmt entirely to blame for this when majority of your players go out to play without the right mindset and look beaten in the first few mins the mgmt are 100% to blame. Not having played a game in months and against Mayo it shouldnt have taken much to motivate these lads. Feel sorry for Conroy and O Donnell having to play without any help from those around them Stay safe everyone. We will get through this with or without football galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1269 - 18/10/2020 16:03:33 2298765 Link 0 |

A note to management & players who had been successfully building momentum, getting supporters excited, having kids in schools and clubs talking about Galway football again - don't put on our maroon and white and go out unfit, incapable of battling, no hunger or fight or pride and no plan. Abject performance on the pitch and on the sideline - get some pride in this jersey or stay at home togoutlads (Galway) - Posts: 341 - 18/10/2020 16:11:23 2298767 Link 1 |
