I do not get that joke about Dublinderry Naysayer, Celtic Park isn't in Dublin.

Derrry has no right to be called Dublinderry as the original Derry settlement was formed by Columba, he was not a Dub or a Londonder, from the lands of modern Donegal actually. One could argue that Dublin should be called "Scandinaviandublin"

I think you are being a bit Sensitive there 4khDoneill' I take from it that Naysayer was making a joke about the Fact that Derry's jammy Home draws are Akin to Dublin playing most of their Games in Croker. In which case you could have spared us the history lesson.

For what its worth I hope Derry get Dumped out of the Championship' Despite plenty of Prematch posts' The Excellent poster Garymac was the only one Gracious enough to Congratulate us on our Win.

I wouldnt get too caught up on this point. They must be sick of the sight of us at this stage, and us beating them is hardly worth tipping their caps to, they are so used to getting beaten by us i am sure they half expected it anyway.

History lessons are needed as there is no shortage of Derry jokes about

I never personally congratulated you as I saw manys a bitter post about Derry the weak before the game from yourself sir, there isn't much Ulster loyalty up in the north west

4KHDoneill simple reference to the home games Dublin play mixed up with the capital tag the likes of your own Gregory and his like tag the place with - no offence meant - I am well aware of the history of Derry and the nonsense tagging of it by a section of our community but like I say this was mainly a sport inspired comment.

I would expect any side left it the A side of the qualifier draw would fancy their chances of seeing last 8 action this summer provided they avoid the losers of Kerry and Cork.

Likewise I imagine both Kerry and Cork feel almost assured of quarter final action at this stage though the losers of the replay will almost certainly face Dublin in the Quarter final while the winner will face the other team to come through the A side of the qualifiers - you would think there is massive incentive there to win Munster.

As for the A side of the draw and potential Quarter-final ties - one word - loaded.

And I suppose I should say well done Fermanagh for doing what Laois were supposed to do - i.e. give us a right good toeing yesterday.

On hindsight I imagine that Laois did an AC Milan in the 2005 Champions League final and decided that the game was over and then panicked when we came back at them meaning they lost a game that they should have won at a canter.

Hopefully Fermanagh continue the good strides they have made under the GAA stalwart that is Pete McGrath and will certainly put it up to a much fancied Roscommon side in the next round. I note that the date for this game on the hoganstand website is 11th July - is this correct?

InishowenMan strange reason for wanting someone to lose. I always go for the Ulster team.....even donegal despite the last time being in Ballybofey at a game my car was keyed and clamped in the middle of cars with southern regs and no clamps or scratches ( that was Derry v Tyrone so maybe they thought i was from Tyrone) and at last years championshjip game in cletic park despite the chants of "theres no queen in donegal only londonderry" I still went for donegal as always when not playing us.

Yeah well done to Fermanagh yesterday on a convincing victory over the enigma that is Antrim. I for one got a bit carried away and thought maybe, just maybe we were starting to make some sort of strides but ended up asking myself last night 'What the hell were you thinking man' as we reverted to type. I am sure yesterdays result does nothing to comfort the Laois faithful who must also still be scrtching their heads over the previous rounds defeat.

Very tough game for Fermanagh now against the Rossies but no reason why they can't come away with a victory if they approach the game right.

Never easy to get a win in Longford, looking forward to an open, free flowing game of football, between two teams at a similar level, may the best team win.

Well at least Fermanagh got a home draw and I would like to think they have a good chance to win the game
I take Kildare to beat Longford. As it stands three Ulster counties are gone but I'd expect maybe four in the quarter finals
So best wishes to Derry , Tyrone and Armagh next week and still think Tyrone / Derry can cause bigger teams problems down the line if they progress
Long range forecast ---- Derry to win the 2016 senior Ulster football championship

SamOnErrigal for Ulster to have 4 teams in the quarter finals Fermanagh will have to be one of them as only a maximum of three from Monaghan, Donegal, Tyrone, Armagh and Derry can make it.

DONEGALMAN

Fair enough point' I suppose' However a little bit of Acknowledgement wouldnt have went amiss. If we had of got beat' Then I also would have been Sick but would have Wished them well all the same.

4khDoneill

Could you please point out Where i was being bitter in any of my Pre Match posts..? I did make myself Clear that I thought we would win the game and I also wished a poster I replied to the Best of Luck and said hope they would bring good Support to make a good atmosphere at the game and also wished all Safe travelling.

Believe me when i tell you that i have Great time for Co Derry people' having worked all over and with your County people in my time from Claudy, Dungiven,Maghera,Magherafelt, Moneymore and also around the Coast road and I have always found your rural Folk to be very similar to ourselves.

In saying that i have worked and been all over our Island' also holidaying' being down at Feile Na Gaels as a youngster and i have found people to be great in most Countys.I have always liked to see a few Countys doing well in the hurling for different reasons or another particularly have liked "The Deise" when Big Dan, Mullane and Co were at the forefront. However when it Comes to Football my loyalty does not leave the Hills and I make no apologies for that.

Doirecity FC

Sorry to hear if that was the Case' i was at the match and didnt witness or hear anything of that and it doesnt sound to me Something Doneagl GAA fans would partake in. Sounds more like something you would hear at a Finn harps v Derry city match' not that I go to watch soccer matches but I have heard reports over the years that The Rowdys do partake in this sort of Malarkey.

To be Honest my Dislike for the Derry team stems from the fact that i know to many part time Gaa fans who spout manure. You will know the type' the ones who eat, drink and sleep the EPL' never wear any GAA gear but proudly Sport their EPL Tops' ones who would not buy a ticket to go watch their county Team but Would happily go to a Bar at the weekend to watch their EPL team and think nothing of throwing 3 times the worth of a Gaa match ticket over the bar Counter. Then again you might find that type in most Countys.

One example from one of these types after last yrs game' through drunken breath and not even joking and I quote' Youse are a disgrace, most defensive team in Ireland, wait till Tyrone or Kerry get yeez...

Plus the fact that there always has been a good Oul healthy rivalry that goes way back between Ourselves' yes its true we may frequent each others turf and tolerate each other to a degree but its always under the surface...Wouldnt be the first time I heard a Derry man term us as Culchies, rednecks, Sheep Shaggers ect...

I wouldnt get to wound up about it' its only a sport after all and who knows' on a better day I might retract my Statement and wish youse well; especially if youse run into Tyrone along the way.. Ha ha...

Tipp v Tyrone
Galway v Derry

Kildare v Cork/Kerry
Fermanagh v Westmeath

What do we make of this, on the spot ill call it Tipp, Galway and Fermanagh and I cant see Kildare beating either Cork or Kerry

Tipp away was the draw I didn't want, I would have been more confident taking on Galway or Derry, this is the proverbial banana skin and I've got a bad feeing about this.
