All Ireland Football Qualifier Draw

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I think Galway have the beating of Armagh.

Tipp will turn Louth over.

Meath are dangerous around these times lads. Their players at the moment have a soft underbelly and this should see Tyrone through.

Wexford have nothing to lose and this could be dangerous for Derry but you'd expect the derry lads to progress.

Nightmare draw for Meath.

Honestly I don't feel that way at all, at least not at the minute anyway. I was absolutely convinced we were going to get an away draw and you might as well get a good team as a bad one and anyway on yesterdays performance, none of the 3 other qualifier teams would have any difficulty beating Meath.

Tyrone offers us a chance at redemption, it offers the players a chance to stand up and fight, same with the manager. Now I'm not saying they're going to do that but the chance is there for them, if they have any balls all they should go and it a right lash.

Derry v Wexford
Tyrone v Meath
Tipperary v Louth
Armagh v Galway

Good exciting draw. I can see 3 home Ulster wins.

I don't see it that way at all. In fact I can see all 3 ulster sides being beaten.

Wexford will be buoyed after their defeat of Down (who ran Derry close)
Tyrone didn't look great against Limerick and despite what all the experts say about Meath , they actually played well for most of the game yesterday and should have won.

Also Armagh struggled against Wicklow and were very bad against Donegal. Galway are a good team and played well against Mayo.

I can see Tipp beating Louth comfortably.

Derry, Tyrone, Tipp and Galway to advance. There will be 2 good games out of that.

Thats a great draw for Meath. When Down got drawn against Wexford they probably felt that was a good draw and a stepping stone to get back on track but they underestimated a good team and got rightfully beat.

Meath will be devastated after yesterday but they won't want to finish the season on a whimper and theres nothing to redeem yourself like getting out there against a top team and putting in a performance. Tyrone will be starting to move freely again after their win yesterday and although I'd still expect them to win, I'm also fully expecting a string Meath performance and it wouldn't be a shock to see them sneak it by a point or two.

Meath posters will be able to clarify this. Do Meath still have problems with teams that play a blanket cos I can't remember them beating anyone that does in recent time!

The three Ulster sides in side B really can have no complaints. Avoiding each other and managing to gain home advantage is a huge bonus. I can certainly see all 3 Ulster sides progressing along with Tipperary. That will leave for an interesting 3B draw.

Derry would've been drawn at home to Down for the 4th time in 2 years had Wexford not beat us. Derry have now been drawn at home for their 8th championship match in a row. That's incredible!

s goldrick the only slippy one is galway. Meath will be wrecked after their first loss to WM and their defence was very very poor plus they are not the physical side of old. They have pace and not much else. Harte will be too cute to lose to them in omagh. Derry will get past wexford. horrible trip up which does affect teams like down over the weekend. We could have beat one of the top 3 in the country on sat night and had the same number of scores on the board. I dont fear this match but i do know anything can happen like longford last year

If I was a Tyrone fan,I would be delighted with this draw.Playing at home to a soft, gutted team, will take the players more than 2 weeks to get over what happened yesterday.Wicklow and Westmeath destroyed us when they ran at us.We conceded 3-12 against Wicklow(should have been more) and 3-19 against Westmeath. How does anyone expect us to all of a sudden improve defensively against a much better team in 2 weeks?

Derry will have learnt a lot from their defeat to Longford last year. I really can't see them making the same mistake again. However, Wexford were impressive vs Down on Saturday evening. But they beat a Down side that wouldn't look out of place in the minor championship, in terms of stature and physique.

We seem to have a real problem dealing with teams that run at us in numbers (which blanket defense teams often do) more than the actual blanket defence. The heads are a big problem for Meath at the minute as well though, we're the exact opposite of the Meath of old who never gave up, we've been giving up regularly for years now (none worse than Wexford 08 for me) so while yesterday was a huge disappointment, it shouldn't come as any huge shock.

Armagh v Galway the pick of the games. Armagh will be looking for revenge after the defeat in pearse stadium 2 years ago. Think it'll be a tight affair and would just tip Galway to come through, that said of course Shane Walsh is a big loss. Jamie Clarke is a big threat but I also think Kernan is dangerous so wouldnt focus too much on just one player. As for the other games, can see meath putting up a good challenge, they'll be hurting after that defeat, that said you would expect Tyrone to be too strong. Tipp should be beating Louth. Derry having home advantage is a big plus and they'll be happy with that draw. Should be interesting

I think there's a lot left in Tyrone. My view is that they are probably better than what they are showing. I'd fancy them to beat Meath but only just.
Wexford must be kicking themselves another Ulster team but their style of football could make for an interesting game. Remember Longford won there last year so Wexford will be no pushovers. Derry to probably scrape over the line as they have a tougher defense.
Tipp probably should beat Louth but this is a banana skin of a game for Tipp. Peter Creedon said he wanted a big team in the draw so will he be happy or dissapointed ??Louth are nothing to be sniffed at and should not be taken lightly.A wee ambush could be on the cards.Louth I sense will love this draw. been honest its probably a fantastic draw for both teams avoiding the Ulster teams.
Armagh v Galway will be another close game. I'd have to fancy Armagh as they have already shaken off the cobwebs with that Wicklow game. Galway haven't played in a few weeks since that loss to Mayo.

I don't think we will beat Louth comfortably as some posters are suggesting here. The big relief from my point of view is we have home advantage. Louth won't fear us in the slightest, they are well used to playing us after several recent league matches. I think/ hope we scrap through a tough encounter.

I can see Galway beating Armagh away. Derry should beat Wexford, with home advantage being key. I'd go for Tyrone too but I think Meath will regroup and push them all the way.

So my prediction is three home wins and one away win.
