Hurling qualifiers

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

From the little I have seen of Clare this year Podge Collins hasn't been playing well at all.

Davy really needs to change things up. Remember the early stages of the championship last year he experimented a lot with personnel before finally settling on a first 15 for the Galway game.

He's showing tremendous loyalty to a lot of last year's team and i think has only made 3 changes to the All-Ireland winning side. If I wa Davy, I'd be making another 3 or 4.

so stories emerging of a mass brawl in the tunnell....i won't hold my breath waiting on the condemnation from the hysterical posters on here...if it happened in clones tomorrow we wouldn't hear the end of it

any chance you want to retract your utterly untrue allegations and make an apology? getting up on your stupid Ulster high horse without even knowing the facts, just going on about some rumour you heard and trying to blow it out of proportion.

Duignan said today that when you win an All Ireland you lose an edge. Clare worked harder than any county did last year and players are tired and their first touch was v v poor. It is clear to those who dont buy the hype that Clare were never going to be contenders this year. I predicted a QF defeat but now they could be lucky to get that far. McGrath still a class player but after that everyone is well below last year.

EOS is a real hurling man and I am pleased for him that tipp won. They have huge problems however. Their full back coughs up goals for fun and they simply cannot rely on McGrath and Callinan to play well consistently. ANother one for QF defeat on form to date but they wont worry about that tonight. Today proved tipp players have heart and fight. For that I am glad cos they got v unfair press.

Not sure I would agree that Wexford were definitely the better team. Just because Wexfords performance shocked a lot of people does mean they were better than Clare yesterday. Clare played the whole second half a man down and won that half by 5 points. Bar the opening 20 minutes, I would suggest Clare were the better team for the remaining 50.

Df will you stop using the word Hype when referring to Clare. Hype goes out the window when you are All Ireland champions. Hype is no longer relevant and is replaced by expectation.

Hype is a term you would be very very used to using in a Limerick context.

Wexford were the better team. Clare hung in there and got a result. Wexford shud have hit dat winner wit time up. Poor shooting and Clare were left off d hook.

Factually, Clare outscored Wexford by 10 points in the last 50 minutes of the game despite being down to 14 for 40 of those minutes.

Think Dublin were tactically naive. They were all over the place in first half. The amount of high ball they lost in the half forward line while leaving keaney their best ball winner at 14.

Kilkenny are beating what is put in front of them but I still don think they will win AI. They no where near where they were. Having said that only 2 games for them left to play.
