congrats to wexford, then can beat waterford, but will be tough after 2 games going to ET.

Clare will be back. finished up with a better team than what started. Shanahan, morey, kelly, flanagan, will all form the backbone of the side for years to come. conlon, dillon david mac POC already real leaders.

Agree with DF, our HF line is poor at winning primary ball n this year we also lost the 2nd ball/ground game battle we killed teams on last year. We will bounce back though.

Hats off to Wexford, a serious team coming together there, great atmosphere last night and a good bunch of supporters. Happy for them.

The race for Liam Mac is wide open now, KK will be favs, but everyone else will fancy a crack off it

Ah well look, I have let the emotions die down and all I want to do is say congratulations to Wexford, Liam Dunne and the Wexford supporters.

If I say anymore it will always look like sour grapes. All I will say is I am immensely proud to be associated with those Claremen, 13 players against 15 for 25mins and we still didn't lose. Extra time Wexford edged it. That goal was the winning of it. Yes we should have had two frees that certainly would have seen us be level or ahead but to mention those things and go on will leave us open to ridicule. Wexford are great people and great hurling people. So good luck to them , there were old fellas there yesterday crying with joy and that's lovely.

As for us Clare WILL BE BACK....we have a brilliant squad of players and last year was no fluke, we didn't retain it this year, but we will learn and come back. Of that I have absolutely no doubt.

Good luck Wexford. Enjoy.

So Corks win means Dublin v Tipp Wex/Wat v Limerick doesn't it?

So where's the Wexford v Waterford game going to be on next week? I've heard Nowlan and Semple being mentioned, but haven't seen anything official.

Think its Nowlan Park Marlon. They would get more of a crowd there than in Semple since its a standalone fixture.

I believe Cork await the Winners of Dublin v Tipp, with more than likely Limerick to face Kilkenny in the other semi.

I predict a Cork v Kilkenny AI Hurling Final at this stage.

Have Cork and Tipp ever played a championship match in Croke Park since the back door came in?

It will def be a Cork v Kk all Ireland, with maybe Dublin in with a outside chance of beating Cork in the semi. I think the semi finals will be Wexford v Kk and Cork v Dublin

It will be very difficult for Wexford I think next week. They have been immense the last two weeks but I'd have a sneaky feeling Waterford will take them by 5-6 points next week

I agree it is going to be really difficult for Wexford out again this weekend.

But I cant see either Wexford or Waterford beating Limerick in the Quarter Final.

Also, Tipp seem to be improving and I am not optimistic of the Dubs chances against them to be honest.
Hope I am proved wrong though.

Semi's prediction.:-
KK v Limerick
Cork v Tipp
with KK and Cork to meet in the decider.

Hard to see anything other than a cork.Kilkenny final at the.minute.

Tipp are motoring along nicely.

Dublin must have 1 huge performance in them. Should be a cracker.

Limerick weren't overly impressive yesterday so I wouldn't be so liberal with a favourites tag in a quarter final

Waterford were the draw I wanted in the last round but.it's a different story now after 180 minutes of hurling and still no signs of our shooting improving.

Will we be flying with momentum or did we give it all in those two games ?? I do take great encouragement in.the fact we put 2 performances together. We haven't done that in nearly 20 years.

Whatever happens for the yellow bellies I'll be happy enough. The expectation was nothing. The hope was a big scalp. I thought we'd exit gallantly for the last two weeks but were still there. Also delighted with the interviews. Guiney and Dunne were quick to remind us all theres a game next week. Either way we're well into bonus territory now. Who'd have thought when the draw was made

I decided to let my excitement die down before posting on the game. After years of disillusionment leaving grounds all over the country wondering if we would ever see Wexford competitive with the top teams, believing when belief was virtually impossible, Saturday was of course a very special day.
After 2 of the greatest games I have ever witnessed, despite doing everything to lose them, we finally got over the line.
Firstly, credit to Clare. They are champions for a reason and the only sad part for me on Saturday was that there had to be a loser. They showed great heart to battle with 13 men on Saturday and 14 last week. No doubt they will be back. Their supporters were very sporting in defeat and were the first to shake our hands after the game in spite of roaring for our respective teams for the previous 2 weeks! Great, passionate and sporting supporters truly is what makes hurling great.
Regarding the referee, I thought he was poor but we were done out of a perfectly valid goal, I thought he let a couple of throws away also, also when a player hits the deck if he leaves the hurl on the ground and gets a handpass away that is still dropping the hurl.
I thought we had lost it in normal time and for me beating a full Clare 15 in extra time was very important. How a team can hurl better v 15 than v 13 is beyond me, but credit to Clare they made life tough with 13.
It was a fantastic reminder to us all in Wexford the value of our hurling to the people. The celebrations were probably OTT for a qualifier but why not enjoy it, if you cant enjoy days like Saturday then why bother in the first place. Waterford are next up, 3 Saturday's in a row is a big ask and I am not sure we will have the legs.
Now I dont think we can win the All-Ireland - we could come a cropper at the weekend, but we are now entering bonus territory and we are seeing Wexford moving in a very positive direction. We need to improve our shooting but as Liam Dunne said, that is stuff we can work on and improve on.
Needless to say, there is a feel-good factor in Wexford today and hurling is back on everybodys lips. I hope it will be still on them next Monday.

Lads is it an open draw for the next round or what ?? If not there's a strong.possibility of cork And kk basically having totreplay the provincial finals to make the all-ireland. If Dublin and limerick advance do the have to play opposites ?? If tipp and wexford/Waterford go on it's open draw or what's the story ?

If Limerick get through they will be playing KK, no other permutation.
