Derry v Donegal

Ref is appalling, not up to this game standard at all, some awful missed calls. Derry are all over the place. But this ref is going to be the key man in this game.

As much as Donegal's defensive system can be a bit wearing they are a fine team to watch when they actually do decide to play football and attack at speed. Why don't they do more of this? Derry look as if the fight has been knocked out of them.

Derry and fight don't go hand in hand unless it's against each other in club football if Donegal were wearing ballinderry tops you might see a different Derry

I agree Ulsterman, they can be terrific when they switch, bewildering why they feel bthe need to play like they did first half. But they are excellent when they decide to play.

Familiar story for Derry after a good league.

Clear as day to see what Eamonn McGee's intentions were there.

Good 2nd half from Donegal, they showed glimpses of their 2012 form their. Still unimpressed on the whole.

Fair play Donegal, I thought Derry were going to go missing like they did in the league final when the chips were down but they made a go of it at least, their main problem being, outside Lynch they have no one to take long range points over the bus.

Still, Donegal looked like they were flat out against a team with one forward and will need to improve greatly.

Donegal into the Ulster Final now. They'll be happy enough going to Derry and winning but need an improvement in the Final if they are to win.

They can aim to peak again for the Ulster final which may give them an advantage over the other potential finalist.

Fair play to Donegal I absolutely hate your style of play but you can't argue with the results it gets you's but my god it's terrible to watch. 2 minutes injury time ha can someone not do the clock in the stand ffs at least 5 minutes injury time there should have been and that's nothing to do with Donegal winning they could have played 10 minutes injury time and Donegal still would have won I'm just annoyed how they can get it so wrong.

Problem is that Donegal basically have a bye into the final now. Hopefully somebody gives them a hammering when they get there.

Neither of these teams will feature in the later end of AI championship, just not good enough. Playing great football for 12 minutes is not going to bother the better teams. Disappointed with referee, Harte has a point watching that ref today.

You haven't heard the last of Derry yet, Derry haven't reached the knockout stages from winning ulster since 1998, in 2001, 2004 and 2007 they went through the qualifiers.

Well done Donegal

But still nowhere near your 2012 form

Derry just don't have the players up front... and didn't let the ball go quick enough

Just played straight into the hands of Donegal

To be honest an awful game of football but well done to Donegal

Played to their strengths and thought they were very good for that 10 minute spell at the start of the 2nd half

But credit to Derry they did their best to get back into the game but they have limited options up front

Donegal prevail but they'll need to be a lot better than that... they went 16 minutes without scoring at one stage

Overall a poor game and neither of those two teams will be winning an All Ireland

Didn't see that result coming, but there you go some things never change, Derry are a league team through and through. As for Donegal, well they won't be next nor near Mayo, Cork or Dublin this year. The standard in Ulster is distinctly average lately, albeit it is the most competitive championship by far. Looking at both Donegal and Tyrone they are not the teams they once were, and Cavan and Monaghan will more than fancy their chances of winning Ulster this year. Intriguing Ulster championship so far, still impossible to pick a winner. Donegal should have enough for Fermanagh/Antrim, but the other side of the draw is wide open. Tyrone, Monaghan and Cavan all in with a shout of making the final.

Derry under McIvor are yet to win an Ulster Championship match. Its all well and good doing it in the league, but its the championship that matters. Fancied Donegal to win today and if truth be told they won comfortably enough in the end. Derry didn't really get going in the 2nd half.

Ulster still contains 5 of the top 10 teams in the country...so standard is not as poor as some people are making out

I disagree about Donegal not looking good enough to win Sam I'm not saying they will win it but they never look good they just do enough to get the job done plus surely McFadden and Mcbrearty will improve on today's performance and when there on song along with Murphy there very hard to beat, I wouldn't write Donegal off that easy.
