Derry v Donegal

Here is the way I see it. The team that loses is. Finished. If derry cant beat a team that is on the wane in their own backyard it is not because they are not good enough footballers, it is because they dont have the mental capacity.if donegal dont win it will simply confirm that they are a spent force.

I hope derry win and I think they will.

How do we know Donegal are on the wane,,??? Check the program on Sunday and look at the age of most of the Donegal team, I would not think they are that old and I still think there is one big hurrah in them
As regards JMcG new plan ::::well I'll let the secret out to all you Derry folk:::::: Donegal won't be backward going forward on Sunday. Now you's have the warning.

Muck, I agree with you re Mc Loone, but Jim is a fan that's why I think he will on the field, I think his problem his is versatility in that you don't where to play him, a good man to have in the squad but for the player himself I think he will never fulfil his full potential for this reason.....

I'll be honest, I felt Anthony Thompson was actually one of Donegal's poorest performer's last season and even this season.

This is a huge contrast, as in 2012 he was probably one of their most consistant performers.

A team being on tbe wane has othing to do with age. Its hunger.
it is only my view. Like every one else it is either right or wrong.

Derry Fans........ Lads anybody any tips regarding parking and possibly the best way to get in to Derry, is through Killea, Buncrana or even strabane the best way, I have two young lads with me and really don't want to be walking any more than 15 mins to the ground

Would go by Buncrana as going by Strabane you have to go through Newbuildings and other small loyalists areas They might not like to see Donegal flags on display and when coming home back a while ago had to stop in Newbuildings as a flag protest was on and road was blocked for a small time. Derry fans might know better but I'm fairly used to using those roads over the years

speaking of derry v donegal encounters, was anyone here there in 2002 when the rep.of ireland soccer team were playing in the world cup the same day, all the plastic fans stayed at home whilst the rest of us brought our plastic coats to clones

I was there that day. 20 of us went up on the bus and only 5 of us were in for the start. 3 lads never made it to the game at all. Ess the strangest championship game I was ever at in Clones.

Which pubs are closest? Is Mary's still on the go? Been a while since I was up there.

Ben 1977,
coming in from Killea, I would just park along the main Letterkenny road. When you start to see parked cars on your way in, go past them and then do a u-turn round the mini roundabout and park in the first spot you find so that you will be facing back the way you came (otherwise it will take ages to get out again after the match). Come fairly early and you won't be too far out the road and will have about a five or ten minute walk to the ground. Trying to get any closer will be difficult and will also leave you ages trying to get out afterwards.

It's hard to know how this game will go, Derry bar the final had a great league but we have saw Derry have great leagues manus a time in the 90s and 08 then get knocked out when the real football started. I don't think that's the care this year I think Derry will be a formidable outfit for most teams to beat. However I think that Donegal night surprise a few people this year I just can't write that team if just yet, with forwards of the calibre of mcbrerty, mc fadden and Michael Murphy you will always have a great chance. I just get the feeling that Derry will find scores slot harder to come by than Donegal. Donegal by 5.

I'm going to completely sit on the fence here, its 50/50 if you ask me, in political parlance its too close to call. Looking forward to it mind, it'll be bouncing in the Celtic park.

Huge game for both teams, for Derry after what happened in the league final and for Donegal who want to show that 2012 was not a flash in the pan!

As much as Donegal have been a pain in our assholes the last 3 years it's time to nail my colours to the mast come on Donegal (sorry Derry but Donegal backed us in our glory years unlike Derry in 95 Dublin flags seen in ballinderry and Lavey)
