I'm hearing adult leagues in hurling starting 5/6th June with football following week.
Championships penciled in for football 6/7/8th Aug and hurling following week.

Not a word about draws on website. Are they trying to make people disinterested?

Kinnegad beat The Downs 0-7, 0-6. Kinnegad didn't score in second half (0-7, 0-2).
Shocking scoreline but wasn't at it so cannot context.

I wouldn't be too hard on scorelines or quality of football. Or read too much in to any results. This will be the first football these players have played in at least 9 months. At least there will be a few rounds of league before the important stuff starts.

Worst game of football I've witnessed in a long time

I see results from the 1st round of the league are up now on the Westmeath GAA website. Couldnt help noticing some walkovers in the lower leagues. With very few people away on holidays, fewer people working abroad etc it baffles me why teams are struggling to field. Why are clubs entering two teams if they haven't a chance of fielding. As for Delvin?? Whats going on there, they rarely field in the league any year, how are they allowed to participate in Championship year on year? Also what are the implications of giving walk overs? Are the clubs fined or do they just loose the points?

I believe clubs obviously loose the points & also receive a hefty fine somewhere in the region of €200-300

Plenty of clubs in this county didn't feel the need to pay their insurance for years and years, so I highly, highly doubt that many of the same clubs feel the need to pay a fine after not fielding twice in the same competition.

A few club leagues game could be in jeopardy this weekend due to an outbreak of covid in the Athlone area. I have heard of a club that has ceased training for the week because of multiple positive cases in the camp.

I wonder what would be the protocol if this was to happened in a championship week and a team could not fulfill a championship fixture?
