Gortin Native to Receive Presidents award

(Oldest Posts First)

Gortin native & British Universities GAA chairman Peter Mossey will receive the GAA presidents award for his service and promotion of 3rd level Gaelic games since 1991. The event goes out live on TG4 at 7.30 pm on friday evening for anyone that has access, in 1991 there were just 4 mens Gaelic Football teams participating in what was known as the original Birmingham weekend, which of course now has flourished into 3 weekends this year with 35 teams participating in the 3 weekends. Not to mention 20 ladies teams, 8 Hurling teams and 4 camogie teams.

Having known Peter for 24 years this is a well deserved award for his dedication to the GAA among his busy professional schedule as Professor of Craniofacial Development at Dundee University, also his work with the Cormac Trust as well as being a founder member of Dundee Dalriada GFC.
