Thought that they had no structure or plan.. The only plan I saw was to keep the Cavan number 10 out of the games with a man marker on his toes.. There was too many gaps in the Monaghan defence, losing Bannigan was a big loss before the game started, The full back was too small..we needlessly gave away two soft goals in the first half but Cavan were always going to beat Monaghan and it looked like the team thought the same. Did the team win any games this year?

NO not a win all year......Good forward playing a sweeper roll,a Goalkeeper who should of been taken off at half time, all in all it was a awful display,no pride showen at all.

They looked like a team that was put together Saturday night.........I know im been hard here, but there can be no excuse for boys not been fit to run or pass a ball to each other and follow their men.......What was going on this past 7 months?

Our number 14 and number 15 were both deployed as dual sweepers for most of the first half, (or that is how it looked anyhow)
It had no effect but by the time management changed it in second half, the game was gone.
Probably wouldn't have made a difference to the result anyhow, as that looks like a good Cavan minor team.
Hope it doesn't demoralise the minors, as I'm sure they are much better footballers than what they showed on Sunday.

It's surprising how poorly this bunch of players performed this year because the U-16 and U-17 developments squads from last year had huge potential. In my opinion it's the worst minor team since the 2005 minor's (you may remember that squad as the one where Darren Hughes was stuck in goals and Conor McManus was left out of the squad) and that team was hopeless. The 2015 minor's played like they'd never met each other, following a daft incoherent game plan. Losing Brannigan to a burst appendix was a big loss to the team but if fit his presence would only have made the score line not as bad as it would have been.

Remember, the 2005 minor's were awful yet we still got Darren Hughes, Neil McAdam, Eoin Duffy, Pauric Donaghy, Gavin Doogan and Conor McManus from that age group. It goes to show that successful minor teams are no guarantee to success. I still think they will be a few lads (at least) from this 2015 team who will go on to play at senior level with distinction.

Eoin Duffy was captain that year I think. Probably one of the best minors I have ever seen. He destroyed teams when he was that age and I think he scored 4 points in the senior county final that year for Latton.

It was cat I don't think the mangement had a clue our number 20 was full foward and cavan's full back was about 3ft taller and about 2 and a half stone heavier than him. also got cleaned out in midfield and it didn't help when they monaghan the sub in the first half also a couple of players in my opinion should of started most of the team was picked from the north monaghan side they didn't give the other players a chance.

Last Sunday was poor from Monaghan minor management in my own opinion, felt sorry for the young players

Looking at the game last Sunday the poor lads never stood a chance with the way the management set them up. The keeper in fairness to him looked like the only Monaghan player who wanted the ball

I believe about 10 of the players (including subs) who played against Cavan are minor again next year. If you include young Brannigan who missed the game, that's 11 players to return for 2016. Most year's you're lucky to get 5 or so players returning for a second year at county minor level. You'd hope the 2015 experience stands to them next year.
