Well it was certainly a good team ye had out today, given how tight the game actually was. The scoreline doesn't reflect that it was nip and tuck for the majority of the match. And I believe Leitrim were missing 3 of your best players. Some good work must be going on there, hopefully bodes well for the future for ye.

We got one point with an extra man and Galway must have scored 1-7 at least with a man down. Something badly wrong there.

Did you watch the game? Goal came from a counter attack when Leitrim were pushing for scores, Galway number 9 scored a few points worthy of Croke Park. What would you have told them to do?? Sit back and take a 2 or 3 point defeat and say we were close or go for broke and try to do the right thing.

Easy to complain

I would have used the extra man to double mark the chap who scored 2-9 against us if we couldn't make hay with it offensively. And then quit it.

It was a very good display by Leitrim. They were well in the game up to the final quarter and played some great football. They appeared well prepared. The final score doesn't do justice to them. It goes to show good young players are coming through and it is important to keep them playing at top level.

It was a good display. the only victories we get these days are moral ones. Young players seem to be coming through for years, but on the day of the game unfortunately fall short.

Strong performance frim the lads for about 40 minutes Galway pulled away then. Hard luck to all involved who gave their all in the most difficult of years. Getting players through to the senior team should always be the main aim of the minor teams as numbers wise its always hard to beat the big three.

That's where with the right coaches in place we would make hay.

Any truth in the rumour Donie Buckley has been approached by Benny Guckian to take over a coaching role with the team?? He would be some addition

Has that anything to do with Donie Buckley going go Monaghan? I had heard rumours that he was linking up with Guckian to coach the leitrim minors. Is it a case of the board not backing Guckian?

I wish him well for the future. I wont forget that great evening a few years back when we hammered Louth in the qualifiers when Brendan was at the helm.

We are playing Sligo in the Connacht semi final. Surely to God we can be aiming to make a final. It seems like a very generous draw. Mind you Sligo will think the same isn't it.

I agree, unless we treat it like the senior Connaught semi v london a few years ago i.e. relaxed attitude, dropping players and get caught. Possibly London's strongest team ever but still a serious case of caught with pants down.
best of luck to them whenever its played
