Kerry vs Tyrone Aug 23rd

I think Kerry will have too much for Tyrone.Kerry, unlike Monaghan, have six scoring forwards. And a couple of the bench.Big game Croke Park experirence & that precious commodity - speed. And lots of it.J O Donoghue,BJ Keane & D O Sullivan can eat up the ground.Tyrone will have their homework done, and have a nice looking young team in the making.Dont think their forwards are as potent as Kerrys, and i think this will see the Kingdom reach the final. As a Dub,i would rather play Tyrone in ther final(if we get there),as i think wed beat them comfortably.I would take greater pleasure in beating in beating Kerry,as they are the county we all aspire to beat.

Kerry are a better team than Tyrone but unlike a lot of opponents Kerry have met Tyrone while respecting Kerry will be looking to win. Tyrone had played well this year in division 1 against Mayo, Dublin, Cork and Kerry and ran Donegal close in Ulster. Tyrone at times have struggled when expected to win but as underdogs the team is set up to hit teams on the break at pace. There is a pattern of play developing especially in the last three games against Tipp, Sligo and Monaghan which argues well for next Sunday. For what its worth I think Mayo will beat Dublin in the other semi.

If Tyrone play a blinder, Kerry wilt at the back and the ref adopts the Hartes... then... It's squeaky bum time.

I agree that Mayo can easily beat the Dubs if they can sustain their concentration for the duration. What will be interesting to see is whether this Dublin team can turn their talent to use when under severe pressure.

On a logical basis you'd have to fancy Kerry with their firepower but Mickey Harte will relish the chance to bring a gameplan to Croker that thwarts Kerry's style. The Tyrone players have also shown over the years that they have the ability and discipline to carry out MH's orders. On another note, what the hell is going on down in the Kingdom when the council is threatening Kerry followers with legal action for openly daring to show support for their team ? Just reinforces my feelings towards these little tyrants when given a bit of power in this country !!

Mayo the best team this year so far.

It will be interesting the see what way Fitzmaurice approaches this game. I would expect Kerry to push up on tyrones kick outs so Niall Morgans influence on the game with his kick outs should be crucial in the outcome of this game. If Tyrone are forced to kick it out long then I would expect Moran and Maher to have the upper hand against the Tyrone boys in the middle of the field but im sure Mickey Harte has a plan for this.

Regarding our starting team I dont expect to see too many changes with maybe Donaghy coming in for O Donoghue if he hasnt recovered in time. There are a few people saying that Bryan Sheehan hasnt got the legs for croke park but he has to start IMO as Tyrone will have numbers back at all times and we should expect to get a number of frees maybe 30 or 40 yards out so Sheehan is vital. As Monaghan found it is tough to break into Tyrones scoring area so these longer range scores will be important for us.

Looking forward to the game now, I dont think anyone is expecting an entertaining game like we got yesterday in the hurling but it will be intriguing all the same. However on Sunday evening next it is certain there will be one or two major talking points as games between these two counties rarely pass without some major incident or two.

Tyrone's approach this year when they have been underdogs in championship matches has been to focus on nullifying their opponents match winner, murphy v donegal & mcmanus v monaghan. I fear Kerry have too many potential match winners spreading the Tyrone resources very thin. So whilst Tyrone will keep them honest in terms that Kerry will know they have had a game I think that unfortunately their greater firepower will see them home in the end.

nullifying their opponents match winner

Good news for you then, we have only 1 match-winner and he is likely to be not playing (Impossible to fully recover from a dislocated shoulder in 3 weeks)

I believe Tyrone will sweep Kerry aside and annihilate Dublin in the final, this is our year.

So we're looking at a straight forward win here for Kerry

Tyrone wont get in within 8 points of them

Kerry have the defensive game now to snub out Tyrone

Just like Dublin did to Tyrone in 2010 / 2011

We just played like them... it works incredibly well

Kerry will setup as such - just like they did against Donegal

Tyrone wont be able to live with them for the full 70 minutes...

Kerry will be ahead by 3-4 points at the end of the 1st half and build on it...

It's the Kerry defensive plan that will beat Tyrone, and their forwards are far more classy than Tyrone

They'll snuff out Tyrone's limited options up front - Tyrone will only score 9-12 points

Kerry will have 18-21 pts on the board by the end of the game

It'll be comfortable enough for the AI Champs... one that will mean a lot to them all

Two teams who like the dark arts. Tyrones messing in last 10 mins V Monaghan reminded me of Kerry v Mayo last ten minutes of replay extra time. Pity MOnaghan didnt have a big fat lad to run onto the pitch.

Kerry have a lot of firepower but are shaky at the back (especially at full back). Kerry will need both Donaghy and Walsh in the FF line to win but may get caught out if Sean Cavanagh sits at full forward.

Likely that Tyrone will play so defensively they wont score more that 12 points which wont be enough to win. Kerry by 3.

The bookies probably have this one right: Tyrone 3/1 underdogs.
If Kerry had any other coach, i'd be tempted to back Tryone. They can grind Kerry down.
However, Kerry have gone defensive and nasty (see last year's all ireland) and EFM is vastly more tactically astute than past Kerry managers.
His smarts will nullify MH, and then it's the 15+5 players. Hard to see Tyrone winning under these circumstances.
Historically if Tyrone went in at half-time in touching distance, Kerry would get ground down in the second half.
Now, I just don't see Kerry messing up the second half.
If they played 4 times, Tyrone would win one out of four.
Probably about right

Called it in 03, 05, 08, and I'm calling it in 2015. Tyrone in Croke Park where it matters, have Kerry's number under Mickey Harte. Mark my words, Tyrone will beat Kerry on Sunday!

It's the Kerry defensive plan that will beat Tyrone

Our defence has been a roaring success so far, only the 7 goals conceded in the Championship and boasting the 30th best defence in the entire National League.

Try break through that oncoming opponents!
