Meath would have a good bench if they had less injuries to content with

True that your bench will improve as injuries ease but with respect Dublin have another inter county quality team at their disposal.

Hurlingdub, precisely. We will throw kitchen sink cause of tradition etc, but the fact remains a fully fit Meath would still find it hard to beat dubs, but with 4/5 certain starters out it makes that job even more difficult. But sure hope springs eternal

Midlu1

and why do you think he did that?
some people amaze me how their eyes show them one thing yet they completly ignore it
or did the camera not show you what lyng done to mdma to make him react
or the other wexford player drilling directly into another dublin players face

My team assuming we have Newman back would be
Por
Keoghan
Reilly
Curran (if fit)/ Harrington
Tobin (best position)
Menton
Harnan
Meade
Sor
Carroll
Tormy.
Biggy (playing more forward).
Mcmahon
Bray
Newman.

Any thing above the shoulders should be a sending off offense.ie elbow, fist, grabbing.

Midlu, Lyng was throwing punches like a fighter on the ropes! Was MDM supposed to take that when the ref was letting it go?

Meath did very well for large parts today

They have copied the Dublin model, just like I knew they would

Except they have nowhere near the squad to pull it off

Especially at the minute with key players missing

Reilly also limping off... Uh oh...

Dublin have been in 2nd gear over the last couple of games

Got up to 4th a couple of times... we're +27 pts without playing anywhere near our potential

But... that won't mean much against Meath

Dublins performance today in large parts was below Meaths own performance

So lots to work on...

Dublin will need to improve, but So will Meath in order to best this Dublin team over 70 minutes

I can see Meath giving Dublin a real go but ultimately the game will be decided in the last 10-15 minutes unless Meath are very clinical in the first 3/4 of the game.

The danger I see with Dublin is that they seem to up the gears as the game progresses and I would worry for us in the fitness stakes when the game is in the melting pot. We will need a lot of things to go our way and that bit of luck if we are to do the unthinkable but I still think Dublin have too much for us at present.

However, Rome wasn't conquered in a day and we've been knocking on the door for the last 3 years so here's hoping the mighty Royals will topple the dominant metropolitan empire! Keep the faith, hon the Royal!

If we had the likes of Gillespie,Wallace,C O'Sullivan and Newman, suddenly we look as though we have a strong bench.Hopefully Newman will be back, the others won't be..

Look Meath will keep up or maybe even ahead of Dublin for 50/60 mins but it's the last quarter that worries me . Meath probably are now in that group top 8 (BTW I think that means nothing) but we are a improving side.
I just want to see htaem on predicting a dublin win, as he in his own words hasnt predicted meath win since armagh game, and we won them all . Come on mate one more time :)

Dublin by 5, It will be a tough game as it always is against Meath.
It is exactly what Dublin need, delighted Kildare didn't win because we would have got passed them at a canter which would have been terrible preparation for the business end of the season.

Meath will push Dublin close and give them a shot in the arm that is needed.

By the way, Cormac Costello - WOW

Now here's a ganme that just doesn't fire the imaginination of the neutral like it used to. Meath will likely huff and puff for the first 50mins, keeping in touch with Dublin, which is usually deemed to be a moral victory by the royals even though Dublin will in all likely win by a margin of between 6/8 points. Another false dawn inthe royal county.

Hopefully it will be a close game. So far with Dublin the games have been boring and you know exactly whats going to happen (i.e Dublin pull away playing in 2nd gear). That's not Dublin fault obviously. Meath can give them a game though, hopefully.

Dublin v Meath
Cork V Kerry
Mayo v Galway

The trad pairings are back in fashion this year.

Meath will be trying to win the match, not give Dublin a good game..

I'd agree with Ziggy ( see we can still agree with each other :)
There is no way any Meath fan or player will be going to give Dublin a game. We are going to win it, yes the odds are stacked against us. But we don't do moral victories, its either victory or loss. Black and white. We will go with attitude of winning, if not what's the point in even playing it?

I'll be giving every bit of respect to Meath. They get goals, and we give goal chances. They ran rampant in the first half of the Leinster final last year. It will be a tough match which both teams will benefit from.

Indeed RD

I would be worried about the stamina of some of our players, and Dublin are favorites, but the lads want to win silverware and will be looking to win this.media-hype about Dublin gets ignored by Meath, and Micko gets them in the right frame of mind.He has got Sean Boylan traits. Big worry is that Newman may not make it?
