Fionn - You're on here posting so you obviously didn't go to Portlaoise! Never mind shouting for Cavan again, do you even shout for Dublin?

Roundball
At the end as ref was leaving the field he was accosted by Cavan players, officials, management and supporters.
Regardless of your perspective this behaviour in disgusting to witness.
It was a poor game, but because your county lost does not give you permission to behave in such a manner.
Cavan played negative football and have only themselves to blame for loss.

You don't deserve to get to an AI Final by playing 2 forwards up front & a mass defence. Ruining our game. Brolly is right "like watching the Black Death". Roscommon will hammer Dubs if they play as badly as that in final.

Youre all here slagging off the Cavan fans but I think they've been shafted. Am I the only one who feels sorry for them?

McHugh should not have got a yellow card

Clear as day cynical pull down by the Cacan player

I counted 3 separate blocks on Dub players running from our half backs

At least 2 were black cards. One was spotted by the ref late in 2nd half

Cavan fans... You have to face facts

You were completely on top for a large part of 1st half

Yet you were only 2 points ahead by HT

Dublin couldn't have played an worse, utter garbage ball into FF line

Then unfortunately...

Your lads were very poor in 2nd half...

Only scored 3 points... 2 coming in the first couple of mins into 2nd half

Another about 25 mins later...

Kicked a vital attempt wide in the 57th min

That's not good enough

Overall Dublin were well on top 2nd half and owned the ball for large parts

But they were hugely wasteful... a really abject performance in many ways

Dublins fitness won it in the end...

Sorry Cavan lads... but I hope the powers that be act and sanction Cavan GAA for their actions of players / supporters / management team at the end of the game

Like your teams 2nd half performance... that's just not good enough

Dry your eyes Bisto Kid. Dubs won playing well below par. Nothing to do with the ref. Cavan were four points up with little more than ten minutes left and lost. Maybe ponder that my friend.

Hurlingdub,
just don't like thuggery no mater the excuse, glad Dublin one.
They were far the most positive team, think final will be better game.

Who's defending the ref? I'm not! But the security needed to. Do yourself a favour mike_clit and simmer down, don't go generalizing about us Dubs like that, a mindless post!

The fact that Dublin only took the lead in the last minute and were 2nd best for most of the game is the reason why the Cavan mentors and fans behaved appallingly...they are SICK....the ref did not favour Dublin the whole game..thats a very easy cop out...the lack of a plan b and the negative tactics lost the game for Cavan....the future still looks good for Cavan but again the scenes at the end were disgraceful...

Was down at the game here today.Would have loved to see a ulster county go all the way.Thought the ref did ok.There was a lot of refs in the crowd that could only see it from their own view.

Just out of the ground. Cavan supporters were a disgrace at the end. If you want to blame somebody look at your tacticians. The game was there for you and you bottled it. Sore losers with no class. Wouldn't even shake Dublin players hands.

Up the Jackeens. Come On You Boys In Blue.

Not all Cavan supporters behaved in an appalling manner and I was not blaming them all,I'm sure most of the Cavan supporters would be embarrassed by the minority who did.

Hard luck to cavan, I wanted them to win the all ireland this year, but not to be. I was not at the game, but it probably was poor if it was like the ulster final in armagh last week. I think that these games are impossible to referee, and if you go out to get over the line narrowly (as we did 10 days ago against cavan), then you always run the risk of getting nabbed on the line. I hope that their seniors continue the good work that is in situ in cavan. A bitter pill to swallow surely, but what can you do?

Hard luck to Cork. A biased view this maybe but Roscommon were by far the better team.

As you so correctly state, a very biased view. Roscommon were overall the better team because Cork were terrible in the first half. I notice you cannot give Cork any credit for their goals, but at the same time make no mention of the soft ball Cork constantly gave away to Roscommon in the first half. A shocking performance by the referee who gave Roscommon several free where there was no foul committed. Yet Cork had to be dragged to the groun before they could get a free.

Apologies. Cadogan's goal was sheer class but you cannot deny Roscommon had better footballers. Maybe Cork played below par but I can only judge what I saw. It was a bullet shot from McEoin for the second but the full back on the line should have stopped it. I think in General Roscommon got the lions share of the soft frees granted but as I said Cork should have had 1 red card. It evened out. Even if Roscommon had 50% of the frees they would have won. They were better than Cork full stop. Anyone who says different has not got a clue. Cork showed great heart to get back into it but equally Roscommon's character to win the kick out and get that free put has to be admired as well as executing a 40m free from the right sideline with 2 mins of injury time played. It has to be said based on those 2 games the 2 best u21 sides were in the first game.

Cavan players goading, diving, pulling and dragging all game then proceed to verbally abuse the ref at the end. Poor form. The right team won that's for sure

From a neutrals point of view thought the best team won in the end. We might get a decent final. Refereee not to blame, Moynagh dragged McHugh down on top of him so no black card there and he fouled the Dublin lad just before he shot so ref was entitled to play advantage rule.

Hope the Cavan Co Board are big enough to identify those supporters and mentors that behaved so disgracefully at the end and hand out appropriate punishments.

Tough loss to take for Cavan. To be honest I thought Cavan's defending for large parts was very good. I still cannot see anything wrong with so called "Negative football". If every team just went for a shootout everyday with the same tactics it would make it less interesting. As a Cavan man I was embarrassed at the carry on at the end of the game. Not very sporting at all. But it would be unfair to label the whole of Cavan as sore losers for them scenes.

In the first game, I was very impressed with Roscommon. Cork's defence was poor. . Roscommon have better forwards than Dublin in my opinion. But if Roscommon concede as much the next day it will be worrying.

Someone said coins were thrown at the ref by the Cavan support. Surely a first a Cavan man throwing away money.

Congratulations to Dublin. I actually dont see a need for this banter and slagging each other off here as the Dubs just played the game and had no influence on the ref.

Secondly, the scenes at the end were ugly. Not a fan of that but when you pour so much time into something then things can boil over. Cavan is football crazy and you could see the hurt at the end.

Finally, the alarm bells were ringing for me in the first half. I think that was a poor refereeing performance. Crazy decisions and the black card for Joe Dillon was wrong. Not reciprocated with an similar incident by McHugh in the second half. Consistency would be nice! Cavan fought so hard to get that far and playing a county with 25 times the population was never going to be easy. I think a draw would have been a fair result today. Tempers are boiling over on here but as I read comments from neutrals it shows me that I am not being biased - apart from a renouned anti Cavan Monaghan poster.

I feel we didnt get a fair crack at it today and that is what makes it hard to swallow.

great to see the mental resolve of the seniors being instilled into the under 21s and the minors today.
two hard fought wins which will bring on both teams.
dublin shooting was woeful throughout the game having said that cavans defensive blanket was donegal esc
you have to hand it to them it was working for a long time but ultimatly with a 9v6 lead the game was there for them
to go and win but identicaly to donegal in 2011 they were quite content to hang on by 2 or 3 points
you always got a feeling if dublin got momentum up with the forwards we had we would get the scores
and so it proved. they ground it out and playing defensive teams thats how you must get the job done.
it was never going to be a classic game so I dont see why some on here stating it was poor,
its more a contrast in styles. I also thaught it was dissapointing to see the scenes after the match
from the cavan supporters or officals couldnt make out who exactly they were but blaming the ref
to me seemed bad loosers as they only had themselves to blame for loosing.
the free at the end was a free he was playing advantage and then awarded the free so cannot see what was wrong there.
as for mchugh he was clearly had his jersey pulled which took him down to ground with the cavan player
and it was the linesman who told the ref this so how on earth he even got a yellow card was strange surely that results in a free out
if your holding the players jersey while in possesion of the ball.
also lowndes was taken out of it after he played the ball up field towards the end and the ref put his hand up to say he saw
but never came back to the cavan player who committed the offence and in injury time dublin defender went down to pick the ball up and was hit with a shoulder charge dangerously when he was going down on the ball, the ref gave no card of any colour
so I feel cavan seemed to be looking for somebody to blame after the whistle.
I think the only ones they can blame is themselves for not going for the match when they were 3 points up
