Rory Beggan

(Oldest Posts First)

Great performance by Rory Beggan Saturday and throughout the season. He is up there with the best keepers in the country. It's a delight to watch him striking a ball of the ground. He has come on so much over the last few years and still very young. Let's hope we get a victory on Sunday.

No reason why he should not be getting an All Star, yet to concede a championship goal, made a great save against Armagh, great kickouts and great under a high ball and best of all his 45's and free kicks are ever reliable, two steps and bang over the bar, bright future ahead for him

He was great last year too (apart from the small wobble against Cavan).

I reckon beggan should have been on the team 3 years ago when down beat us, mc eneaney brought him in, he was still 19, brilliant goalkeeper, plenty of years ahead ( hopefully very successful years) he'll give cluxton a better run for his money this year, monaghan May have a new all star

One thing that that stands out from other from the other top keepers is that Rory doesn't grieve attention and controversy. He seems like a modest lad. I see in the Star today Rory had a coach in working with him under Eamon mc eneaney, anyone know if he has anyone In with him this year as part of Malachy's set up.

Considering all the matches over the years we couldn't kick a 45 to save our lives and the one and two point defeats in big matches Rory is a massive find for us.

Conor McManus and Darren Hughes have had their Black Cards overturned. Would we have won if Conor was still on the field last Saturday, I doubt it.. we rattled off 3 points after he got the black card. It's good news that Darren has had his overturned as one more and he would have got a one match ban and with Eoin and Gavin still out, we can't afford to lose him.

Agreed, it's a massive plus for us and a necessity really for a big team these days. The thing I like most about him is he goes about it with no fuss, walks up a couple of steps and boots it 55m+ with no effort. I seen him quoted in the papers this week about how all he focuses on is the ball, doesn't look at any of the players or fans. He may as well be kicking balls in Scotstown training as a packed Clones by the looks of it. Niall Morgan has got a lot of headlines over the last year as being the next best in the country after Cluxton, but I don't see where he is any better than Beggan, and I'm not just talking about frees here.

Also feel very confident of him when a high ball is hit in, done it many many times in the ulster final

Cluxton is a great keeper but the fact that Beggan hasnt been giving a shout at any stage is unreal, In my opinion he should be in the running for one right now, not being Biased either
