Will there be a change in Management?

Franci3 in my opinion gortletteragh are 3rd in line after mohill 2nd and Mary's 1st

Gortletteragh are a good team strong young lads not afraid to do battle they beat the top teams in the league and championship

Almost ended up in a county final after winning intermediate the year before

So how you rate them 'not good'? I can't figure out your statistics

In my opinion there are not a great team but as t he standard of senior football in leitrim is so depressingly low maybe they are in the top 6. Manor will be back next year and as formidable as ever. Marys were very striong and solid this year. I saw them first hand a few times and feel they are worthy County Champions. Mohill have a good young side with potential so lets see where they go. So after Manor, Marys and Mohill maybe they are the 4th best.
Plus it must be pointed out that its 8 years since a Leitrim club team (Kiltubrid) won a game in the Connaucht Club which after great teams like Manors great 4-in-a-row team not even able to come within an arses roar of bucking that trend something needs to be done or in 10years time will Leitrim be like Kilkenny in the football?

Honestly its frightening how low the standard has got. Players will tell you themselves. Look at 02-09 when we had Mohill, Kiltubrid, Marys, Manor, Bornacoola all with really strong teams feeding the core of the county team. There are obviously great players not in those clubs who were immense also for county but it seems now we are relying on maybeMarys Manor Mohill and slim pickingd from everywhere else.

Oz has taken its toll to be fair

But until a the potbellys are removed from the county board and clubs we won't see success

It will just be circus after circus

And manager after manager

The talent is there in alot of cases being held back

But on the bright side it's nearing AGM time and change will come

Young blood all round

It is time to forget barney and george they are the past and best forgotten,it is time to look forward an get behind our new manager. And hopefully he will reunite all the players, end get back the 4 players that were so wrongly dropped. But slowly the truth is coming out about what actually did happen last year. Our new man is holding trials in the next few weeks to get his panel of players for the year,he has been at a lot of games watching players not like the last 2.So best wishes to sean and all the players for a good new year and hopefully permotion out of division 4 our main ambition.

The previous management looked like a pair of fella's that were over a Junior C team and not an Inter County team. I know Leirtrim are not world beaters but surely ye could have had better then them. The interviews etc were cringe stuff. Past is the past though.

The main thing about being a manager is making sure you are in control

A player or plural more than one players should not call the shots

No player is entitled to say on any team that is such a fella is playing then he won't

No man is bigger than the jersey and this year there was no pride in the jersey or the county

It was presumed after winning the 6th tier league that really should be played by the county's second team if we had put out one

That we would win division 4 /connacht -ulster and Leinster on the way to lifting Sam

Sean Hagan is as good of manager as any team could look for some of us know how he works

There won't be any petting or favourites if you want to play for the county you'll train hard andkeep the gob closed

The media should focus on crossmaglen rangers and ballymun kickams and st bridgits of roscommon instead of drawing out players or former players from a division 4 forgotten about county

Yapping about your team mates causes distrust and it should be hit on tje head

Talking to the media by players should be supervised by the manager in person or it shouldn't happen at all

We are all aware of how these reporters see 2 kids kicking a ball at the crossroads and by the time it hits the headlines it's an allireland final

They can't even get our names right or what we scored in their articles

They have pictures of the team yet they can't even get our numbers matched to our names

Time to let the manager manage the team

Let the 6 forwards take the frees

Let the 6 backs defend

And play football lads

I agree on the second team point, the junior team needs to be resurrected and filled wit this years overage county minors, u21s and a few more that might be good enough, see how they get on and if they dont what about it, thought the idea was to give fringe county players a chance

Take a look back at the Armagh game

Jamie Clarke ran trough 6 backs from out beyond the 45 and scored a goal from just inside the 21

How many of these backs that love running forward and love marking so loosely stood infringing of him

How many of them attempted to stop him or undertake a Sean cavanagh tackle on him

Had any of them maned up to their role on the county team and stepped away from the camera and played football that particular game could have ended 1.13-1.10

We still may not have won but it would have left a closed door on some dignity for 2012

Personally and I believe the majority of football followers in the county are likeminded Hagan needs 5 new starting backs

Egan as full back that position fills itself as does McKeon 6

4 positions there need new blood tall fit strong well built men that can handle themselves

Nothing under 6 foot

that makes for painful viewing

Painful Is the fact that not 1 of the backs can stand up and say they play county football

It's going to be competitive competitive at these trials

But I expect no less than a new half back line 2 new corner backs

And a selection of new players between midfield 2 wing half forwards and full forward

I'd expect conlon Lowe Egan McKeon Moran and the Beirnes should make it

Hopefully Maguire is back from injury and after the Armagh game it's time to see what young blood stood out in the championship

Nobody will pay to see leitrim play again with half backs looking at cameras flashing.g while a player on the other team laughs his way trough them to score or set up 8 goals

Fair enough the panel faced injuries but the 15 players on the field didn't play football apart from conlon And Lowe

We might only have 12 senior clubs but when joint managers start ringing intermediate begging retired players to come back and not a phone call to any of the 12 senior clubs something is not adding up

Mohill will probably feature some of the new blood pity this year they didn't have a county player

They have Quinn mcloughlin mulligan all slightly young to be marking the likes of cavanagh a'shea or McCauley

Gortletteragh and eslin have the usuals 2 in ballinamore but it's down to Mary's to fill up the rest of the panel
