Why we have to feel sorry for Mayo.

They gave everything in the Final, ok the sending of was a stupid decision but they fought to the bitter end. Its easy for the keyboard warrior to criticize and even rejoice when Mayo loose. Anyone who has put the sacrifice into training in sport would understand the bitter disappointment of loosing.
i am a passionate Galway supporter and was in Croke Park to witness the shocking Galway performance against Kerry this year. Galway footballers need the Fight that mayo have otherwise we will always be in envy of Mayo and rejoice in Mayos defeats cause we are not good enough ourselves.

Never like critiquing lads that play for Galway, but they could do with having a look at this Mayo team. Yes we beat them twice in two years, but those wins are pretty meaningless for me after what happened later on in both summers. Mayo are a team that has courage and steel in abundance. On paper we possibly have players of similar or even better ability. But as they have shown time and again, when the chips are down this Galway football team doesn't really want to know. A big reality lesson is coming next spring, and unless there's a sea change in attitude then it will be more mediocrity for Galway football.

Hard luck to Mayo, they fought the good fight yet again. However their composure really let them down going down the closing stretch against the Dubs. It's interesting, if the same thing happened to Kerry, and they lost the game in the way that Mayo did, the knifes would be out for the players and management for losing another All Ireland final by a point, for the second year running. We need to look beyond accepting losing here in the west of Ireland.

the problem is we play mayo like its the all ireland final but roscommon like its a challenge match- easily the biggest efforts of the last two years have been put in against mayo. beating them to be the aim of our season is not enough

That was a massive effort from Mayo we could learn a thing or two about going to the final whistle and not give up, they should be proud, they do not need you sympathy. Mayo have played 19 championship games since the Spring of 2016. They play division one, that is why they fear no one. Too many unconstructive posts here about Galway football, yes we have flaws but we can improve and we will. Up the Tribe.
