AI Semi-Final Dublin V Mayo

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Realdub, he bounced the ball twice in succession without taking a solo. That's fouling the ball.
It academic now and we blew that final no doubts about it.
But as I said the Dubs were decent after and that's my overall experience in 13 too.
The polar opposite to Tyrone after defeats to them.

westkerry, he didn't bounce the ball twice, took a lot of little steps but I repeat, he did not bounce the ball twice!

To be fair Kev did double hop the ball back on our 21 yard line behind the ref's back (so he was unable to see it). Think it was before Berno's 67th minute point if I recall? or possible Kev Nolan's equaliser.. Will have to go watch it again!

Back to the thread! All things quiet on Dublin v Mayo front! Tickets seem to be taking off general sale on the websites, clubs putting in their orders by tomorrow evening I think! Looking at HQ's first sell out of the summer!

All very low key in Mayo. No hype or barely a word about it. Quietly confident with a healthy respect for the Dubs and they way they play the game. The only team who just go out and play and don't bother with the cynical stuff (with a few exceptions of course).

Should be some great match ups.

JayP I agree all day long , Conroy out for Mayo they can still win without him but always a nice nippy sub to bring on imo.

You would have to feel for Conroy getting injured. All that hard work and training. always good for a point or two and lively off the bench.

YewTree he absolutely destroyed us in the semi final in '12 we couldn't handle him at all.

Honestly can see Dublin winning this With a few point to spare...Mayo have played Jim Gavins Dublin team 6 times over the past 3 years and lost 5 and drawn one..Also Dublin have 3/4 forwards that are deadly accurate long/short range (as do Kerry)...Mayo do not and require certain forwards to shoot the lights out...Aidan O'Shea is reliant on the delivery into him but what is their plan B?. ..Dublin by 6

I see the game has officially sold out. Fastest selling semi final in history? Almost 2 weeks out? Should be a great atmosphere between two sets of passionate supporters.

The closer we get to the game, the more confident io am becoming, despite my reservations about our FF line and bench !

I want to say one thing tho before we all go full on John Rambo mode next week!

Mayo lads, if ye do beat us, I really really really hope ye win the All Ireland, and all bravado and BS aside, I mean that. Ye deserve it, ye are more than good enough and if it cant be us, I want it to be ye.

God Speed

Good to see some honest and we'll justified opinions from the Dublin supporters. After all the Blue Juggernaut plays with a swagger so why wouldn't a supporter shy away from being really brash and confident is beyond my comprehension.

Mayo will need everything going right on the day just to even have a possibility of winning, the odds say that it won't all come into place for them. I do think they are the second best team in the country and will manage to keep it to single digits the only team capable of doing so.

Why bother with the bravado and bs then?
