Jayp I honestly don't think Mayo will play a sweeper yes they played it against Donegal cause you have to but against us I'm sure they'll go man on man just like we will. One thing I'm certain of is there's no way Barry Moran will be sweeper against us.

I hope Barry Moran is a sweeper against us! Man on man would be crazy for them. The 2013 final proved that as after 25 mins of throwing the kitchen sink at Dublin Mayo had to bring Higgins back as Dublin were carving holes through the centre. Just think Dublin will kill them if that happens.

For Gods sake grow up, what's in the past is in the past and leave it there, if people went picking every single piece in every single game we would have civil war, all that counts is August 23 Kerry v Tyrone and August 30 Dublin v Mayo for the moment, we can talk about the big 1 after the semis whoever makes it

One thing Dublin will have to be awake for is quick Mayo frees in our half. Mayo are very quick to spot a free runner and put him through one v one

Yeah very sharp with the quick frees , I think Andrews can cause Caffereky serious trouble and Barrett is there for the taking but I'm not sure if Rock will , I'd way rather see Costello/A Brogan/Kev Mac starting in on him with Rock to come on as impact.

I believe O'Shea will start FF again.
I don't believe Dublin will go man to man with him (despite everyone I talk to telling me Dublin will go man to man)

Key will be ability of Mayo midfield to get good ball to the inside line.

On Mayo defence, there will be a sweeper deployed, no doubt. What that will look like, I have no idea.

I hate the thought of McQuillan reffing this game ever since the criticism he got following the Dublin V Kerry '11 match he has been a disaster when taking charge of a Dublin game, all started by the biggest sore loser in Kerry (Spillane)people have short memories or just deliberately ignore the facts of that final. Dublin outscored Kerry 1-3 to 0-1 in the last 10mins of that match with a couple of bad wides for good measure. Dublin finished very strong that day but don't let that get in the way off a bullsxxt story started by a kerryman.

Watch back the '13 final and the free count was 7-1 to Mayo in the first 15mins some very soft free's.

Very little said of O'Sullivan's performance in the quarter final against Fermanagh 21 - 4 free count. Dublin getting there 4th free in the 72nd min.

Dublin not getting the 50 / 50 calls from referee's could be very important come the Semi final.

Rock has to start a good free taker is 4 to 5 pts a game will be very valuable against Mayo if a Ref bothers his boll?x to give us a free.

The way O'Sullivan reffed the game against Fermanagh and McQullian the few times he took charge of a Dublin game a free taker would be a luxury as we aint getting them.

Blast I'm telling you we will not play a sweeper we will go man on man like we always do Jim Gavin will not change his team around just for Aidan O Shea I promise you that.On Dean He's a great free taker but he hasn't taken frees in a packed Croker in a massive game , hammering teams and taking frees is a lot easier. I like Dean a lot I think he's very good but I rather him off the bench than starting I think we need pace in our ff line and he isn't blessed with speed. Just my opinion I hope to god I'm wrong.

Would be very surprised if Mayo did not play a sweeper. It worked so well for them against Donegal. The fact they put 2 sweepers in play for the last 20 mins shows the mindset of the 2 men on the line. They will see this as there best chance to win an All Ireland due to players, system etc. They went man for man against is in 2013 and we beat them with ease in reality at about 70% and they struggled to see us off in 2012 when we were very much below par.

Would start Deano, think he deserves the nod after the Fermanagh game plus he is the free taker so is a certainty

Mayo playing a sweeper will allow us to double mark AOS

Clondalkin - both Mayo and Dublin will play sweepers. What a ridiculous piece of analysing . Mayo may actually drop two sweepers back . When Mayo got a lead on us , they pretty much dropped 13 behind the ball and fair play to them but suggest it will be a conventional 15 v 15 is nonsense .

Joe reffing is a joke , if I was Mayo I wouldn't be happy at all .

I dont think the ref will have too much of an influence - Dublin will blow mayo away with there sharp shooters up front. Flynn, Connolly and Brogan will be too much for that mayo rearguard to handle.

Lazy analysis on Joe McQuillan. 2013 Final and 2012 semi final he gave Dublin nothing. Jim Gavin criticised Joe in an interview immediately after we had just won Sam. Thats how upset Gavin was! So this, Mayo should be annoyed is BS. McQuillan has never favoured the Dubs....its a myth.

The Right Stuff we haven't played a sweeper in two years under Gavin so why would we start now? Also Mayo never play a sweeper only against Donegal cause you have to against Donegal or you get bet like us last year, honestly I've said some crazy stuff on here over the years but I don't think saying two teams that don't play sweepers is a ridiculous statement in all fairness.

The game i am most looking forward too. Dubs are untouchable but the only team in country that can cause them serious worries is mayo, the winners will win all ire , while Kerry may keep with either for a bit they wont beat them, and Tyrone are no hopers.
Like everyone else id love to see mayo win this but dubs are a different animal this year than last. They wont get caught twice. So unfortunately i see them progressing but id love to be wrong.
