I thought you supported that type of thing. Or is that only if it is Muslims?

I support a nations right to defend itself against terrorism. I dont deem the provisional IRA to be terrorists, they had a legitimate and noble aim.

As a staunch supporter of freedom would you allow other people the right to view them as terrorists?

Of course there are and will always be those who like to invent a problem because its in their nature but I'd like to think those wasters are in the minority.

As far as I am aware you will have trouble seeing her as she is not going walkabout by all accounts. Secondly, where is this injection of money to the economy coming from? I have asked several people who have espoused this view and nobody seems fit to tell me. Conservative reports suggest that the security bill for the two visits is £25million. The quays in Dublin as well as O'Connell St will be virtually closed so businesses will lose money. I have no thoughts on the matter to be honest but I do take exception to people telling lies to justify the visit.

No, Omagh, I've had quite a few posts without hail in them. I just like to pay tribute to my fellow posters, or to special people, and of course Celtic, so I use the word a lot. Completely agree omagh. This magical injection into our economy......if people want to argue that it's a move toward a better relationship between the two states then fair enough but saying that it will make us money is deranged. These same people usually claim it will inspire tourism!? Yet it will only make international news if there are serious protests or rioting which, i imagine, wouldn't inspire that many people to make the trip across the water. My overwhelming feeling if i was in dublin today would be annoyance that i can't go where i want in my capital and that public transport is disrupted. Unless we hold her hostage until the bail out is renegotiated then ireland won't come out of this the better fiscally. Also it's sad to see a round up bny the PSNI and Gardai of anyone who might protest, i don't agree with most of them but freedom of speech is being totally ignored.

I wouldn't cross the road to see her and if i was unlucky enough to come across her then i would tell her what i think of her.

To be honest I was only taking the **** with that last post omaghredhand, truth is I'd feel the exact same if the King of Spain or Queen of Holland came over for a visit, ie couldn't really give a toss but I hope it goes down without a hitch all the same. As for money going into our economy, haven't a breeze there either to be honest, haven't done any maths or looked at any receipts or nothing, it probably will end up costing us a few quid, ah well.

Walked around Dublin yesterday didn't get a very welcome air in the city probably due to the large Gardai presence. Just spoke to a mate who's been searched twice this morning. If anything this will portray Ireland as actually having a problem with the visit when English people ask themselves why the need for such tight security? and seriously who believes this will generate tourism in Britain? I'd rather the 35mil was spent on an ad campaign.

thank god for this visit at least it will show that only a small minority are living in the past and the vast majority fully embrace the queen and what she represents. did anyone watch the programs last night about what the brits have ever done for us- its 100% true had it not being for the british the gaa would not be as strong in this country - i think alot of people for get this.
