Great win for u20's. A lot of those lads hurt a lot after what happened last year so fair dues to them for getting to the Leinster final. The game is fixed for Carlow which is a good break cause I thought we had a home/away agreement in place with Kilkenny which would have seen the game being played in nowlan park.
I still don't think the lad's have hurled to their potential and no better time for that than next Monday which I think they'll have to produce to win. I thought the Kilkenny/ Galway game was a much higher standard and Galway will be kicking themselves for not putting Kilkenny away. the kats will most likely be without Harry shine after his injury yesterday

Mixed bag really over the weekend. Minors unlucky at the death and maybe a draw would have been a fair result. Our seniors were bang in form and were goal hungry. The Laois team were feeble and toothless and were on a different planet. We should rack up a decent score against Westmeath and perhaps put it up to the cats in their own backyard.
Was in Wexford park yesterday and was surprised at the small crowd. Perhaps " the fans" didn't fancy shelling out €15 and looked at it on TV instead. Of the match, i was delighted with the intensity and passion of all the players. They were skillful and brave and gave it everything. I think they will need to up their game a bit more if they are to beat Kilkenny. Hopefully the u 20s and seniors can keep the wagon rolling and maybe a bit of silverware for us starved supporters to celebrate.

Replying To 96andproud:  "Very proud day yesterday. Saw out what was a tough battle with Dublin and felt our previous games stood to us. Last year was heart break and just a poor performance. I've stated here many times none of the players put any blame on the setup or decisions. They put full blame on themselves and have put a lot of work into this themselves this year. Big day ahead now against KK.
On a side note Joe Fortune has done a very impressive job with Westmeath this year. Winning Keogh Cup, National league and pushing KK and Dublin in championship. Hopefully he does us a favour in two weeks time and gets over Laois. I hope someday he gets a real shot here with us.
We will be up against it with KK after their performance yesterday but that was an excellent excellent Galway yeah on paper so all to play for."
Well done to your young fella and the team. They fought for every ball and showed great heart. The 2 semis were very entertaining close games hopefully the lads can beat the Cats again in the final. Best of luck to them!

Replying To Yellowhelmet:  "Job done on Saturday. Will give them a bit of confidence.

2 games left. 2 wins needed.

Team for westmeath

Fanning

I think that half forward line but be impressive.

Impact subs oisin Kevin f Dunbar dwyer"
Think that's close to our best team at this stage. Obviously if Shane Reck, Bailey and Murphy weren't injured maybe the starting 15 would have some changes in it.

Replying To ChinCanHurl:  "U20 game was a right game. Very impressed with Jack Redmond Kyle scallan and Cian Molloy. Tomas Kinsella had a good game when he came on as well caused a few problems for Dublin.

Would be great to see them go on and win it now but it will be tough."
Tucker has looked good every time he has come on this year. Is he seen as an impact sub?

Haven't seen too many Askamore games but he has been very impressive coming off bench . Very unlucky not to be starting

Out of interest Drennan said in his interview after the KK game that their panel had been putting in 3 nights a week training since October. Did our lads do the same? Fair play to all the lads that age making that commitment. Along with mock exams for some and Fitzgibbon for others. And Senior panel training, challenge games, Walsh Cup and League games.

I wouldn't be too hard on fans. There were 4 matches over the weekend and the scheduling of them was completely ludicrous. Lets say you drove to Portlaoise for the minor and senior match, each a €25-30 diesel + €15-20 ticket for each. Then back to Wexford for the football, another €20, then the u20 yesterday, another €20. It adds up and as somebody with few commitments, I went to 1 and that was it.
I was talking to a man yesterday who was at all 4. Great admiration for such supporters. He said the wife is delighted he is out of the house.
The games over the weekend should have been 2 double headers and the u20 on before the football might have swelled the home crowd. Not that it would have mattered to the result but in terms of promoting the game in the county these things need to be given more consideration.
Well done to the U20's and seniors. The u20s are a good side and we will see more of a few of them. Fair play to Jack Redmond to come out to the sideline and nail that free.

Thought Kilkenny were by far the better team from about 40 minutes onwards myself. Both teams in the 2nd match had some giant lads! Harry Shine is an amazing talent for his age.

Galway will rue 2 missed penalties within a few mins. Think Joseph cooney's brother was wing back for Galway. He's a monster of a 20 year old. Kilkenny full back sean purcell a giant as well.

Both can hurl too. Thought both played well. Galways 14 was probably the best player on the pitch in open play though only a little lad. He didn't hit either penalty very well though.

You make some good points storystash regarding crowd, or lack of a crowd to be more accurate. Can't say too many would have gone to all 4 games unless they don't use electricity, burn oil or eat food.

Why didn't the gaa put in two double headers. Dublin u 20s would have had a good crowd supporting them and also would have enticed a more wexford people into it.

Isn't it an awful pity they wouldn't put the Under 20 final on Saturday or Sunday evening. With no senior game for either county it would have made sense . Still expect a big crowd there on Monday evening.
Would be a massive boost for Wexford hurling if we could get a victory and qualify for an All Ireland Final

Logical solution. Not always a GAA value
