Now we've hammered another good side in Westmeath who have beaten us regularly in the last few years. With Div 1 hurling secured next year we now have the chance to get ourselves back into the Liam McCarthy by winning the McDonagh cup. What's not to like. A deep, united county panel buying into the management strategy and style. They toughed it out against Kerry and showed an exciting brand of hurling against Westmeath yesterday that had me very excited for the next year or two. I probably wasn't the only one who was apprehensive before yesterday's game but credit to every single member of the panel and backroom staff. They showed any amount of skill, determination and kept to their game plan. There will be bumps in the road but wow after yesterday! Lets get Casement built! 2-30 is an excellent score. We're in the final now against Kerry. We've beaten Kerry three times already in 2020 and I'm a little nervous as it's unusual for one team to beat another four times in one year. M Lyster (Antrim) - Posts: 431 - 28/11/2020 14:53:43 2316168 Link 1 |
Regardless of the outcome of the final, which of course we want to win, it is only right to pay tribute to all of those who make our games possible, from players, mentors, admin people all the way through to the technical guys who streamed games so that we could all watch in the comfort of our front rooms. Particular credit to Meath GAA for Saturday. What an entertaining commentary that was, with the wags bringing some light entertainment to proceedings. Fantastic what a year for the Saffs! Division 1 hurling secured and now back in the Liam McCarthy cup. Well done Darren Gleeson and the panel. M Lyster (Antrim) - Posts: 431 - 13/12/2020 14:50:14 2321889 Link 0 |
Well done on winning the Cup. You will hopefully, covid allowing, have a full league of div1 opponents to get ready for the championship too. Not sure why you would be fearing Kilkenny or Galway though? At the end of the day playing against better opponents can only be good for individual players. Imagine what could be learnt from playing on TJ Reid or Joe Canning regularly!
