A note of praise for Rory Beggan on Sundays performance. OK, he missed a couple of place kicks, but he was very assured under the high ball. There were a few times when he dealt well with high balls in the square, in particular one time in the first half when he cleared man and ball! His distribution was good too, and he's generally a good safe pair of hands to have in the team.

A word also about 'The media'...now of course nobody in the team cares about them...but they were happy to condemn Monaghan after the indiscipline in Mayo, and they were happy to condemn Monaghans style of play after the low-scoring game in Donegal...but was there a word about the fact that we scored 14 points from play on Sunday? Or the fact that we're third in the division? No. For the generally good job the team are doing, with a limited squad, which has been hit by injuries, they at least deserve some respect from those 'in the know' about the game.

I would love to think we could get something from our last 2 games, but realistically think we probably won't. Hopefully results elsewhere will go our way if that is the case. We would be very unfortunate to go down with 3 wins!

In the monaghan v cork match if drew was switched onto c o neill would we have won ?????

Im gonna say no............Because in my view it was the first goal that done the harm.It kept Cork in the game, plus the manner in which the Cork midfielder ran through the middle untouched was very disappointing.Someone should have stopped him simple as that, even if it ment black card.

O'Neills second goal was just class and hats off to him for it............although im sure Drew would handle him power wise im not sure pace wise...

Anyways its done now, onwards to Tralee and Clones to see can we beat one of the big guns..........I think we can take one of them.

Yeah the jacks aren't great in Clones. I usually head to the Creighton Arms before and after.

So folks...what's the gameplan for the weekend in Kerry...how do we combat them (and particularly Moran) in midfield...?

More than likely we will take our own kick outs quickly and give up the Kerry kick outs to their corner backs etc to try and avoid the midfield battles.

Other than that I would see this being much similar to the Cork match but we need to be a bit more defensive obviously as we lost that one.

Probably the same team as Derry match as well and we need to be accurate on the day to have any chance. Looking forward to the trip and hopefully it goes better than the Mayo trip away.

Stick to our game plan, play to our strengths. Every team has a Moran or whoever, no point deviating from our game plan just because it is one team or another. Instead of worrying about how we are going to beat Kerry, let them worry about how they are going to beat us. Kerry are not invincible and we have enough in the tank to beat them in my opinion.

Well lads safe journey to all of ye that are making the trip to Tralee, hopefully it'l be a good game, we are still missing a load of our first team which is a balls and tommy is still not next near what he needs to be, but time will improve him with gods help, I'd say ye'l have pretty close to ye'r championship team and the pitch is tight and mucky so I to think ye could take us, I just hope we don't pick up any injuries.

Safe journey to everyone this weekend,i cant get to it so ill be listing to Nudie.......

Id say we will close up the shop early and keep it tight,if we dont let in goals early and with 10 minutes to go we are still in it we could get a result.

best of luck to all.

Big game at the weekend.. Whats everyones own opinions on match ups etc? Personally Think Vinny will be on Donaghy while Drew will be on Geaney or Walsh if playing.. Also Kieran Duffy on Jonny Buckley? R Wylie on BJ Keane. Also, any word on Conor Boyle? He pulled up against Derry but wouldnt mind seeing him being fit to start as he handled Paul Geaney in Sigerson Final very well which would free up Drew! Dont think we have anything to fear but must stay focused and disciplined as we all know what happened against Mayo when things were going against us. Will be there myself , any one else heading down?

Lads why isn;t Dick Clerkin starting... i am a massive fan of Vince Corey, always felt he was wasted in at full back good to see him outside at centre back

I'm afraid Donaghy's presence in the square is what we have to worry about, you just can't not think it will help somewhat,
Have a feeling though Beggan could be coming out for any high ball something that he is good at,
Otherwise I am feeling good about this game and I think we could get the win,

Well done to all the team and management on a brilliant win........also well done to our supporters who travelled down hope yous had a great time and got back safely.

Now that we are safe what do you's think Malachy and the boys will do?

Should we go on and try and win our 3rd league title on the trot.......

Or should we close down the camp and focus everything on the May 24th clash with Cavan......

My choice would be close it down, train hard and have a fully fit, motivated, and above all a hungry team ready for war in breffni park in 8 weeks time!

What yous think?
