I can't see any games being played tomorrow anyway with this rain. No pitch in the county could withstand this weather. Id say even the inter-county games will need an inspection in the morning. lugdrum (Leitrim) - Posts: 234 - 18/05/2013 18:37:15 1386309 Link 0 |
Drumreilly vs Bornacoola game went ahead this evening final score Drumreilly 4-11 to Bornacoolas 1-8 Villatown (Leitrim) - Posts: 902 - 18/05/2013 20:42:12 1386366 Link 0 |
And unless we get a mighty week with no rain and constant heat 27/8 degrees c for the next 6 days the championship could be postponed also 94allstar (Leitrim) - Posts: 1737 - 18/05/2013 20:45:06 1386369 Link 0 |
Wellies! Dam you predictive word! 94allstar (Leitrim) - Posts: 1737 - 18/05/2013 20:55:38 1386373 Link 0 |
Pitch as you could understand was heavy enough however very little water on it.! Gerry Gallogly was the ref he was alright but could have stayed uo with play better. Overall Bornacoola without Gary McClosey where poor. Villatown (Leitrim) - Posts: 902 - 18/05/2013 21:04:18 1386379 Link 0 |
Wins for Drumreilly,Glencar/Manor,Ballinamore and Melvin Gaels in D1 and for Allen Gaels,Leitrim Gaels,Drumkeerin and Carrigallen in D2. The two games that where called of in D1 in Kilutbrid and Dromahair where pitch trouble I assume. Villatown (Leitrim) - Posts: 902 - 19/05/2013 18:09:44 1386706 Link 0 |
Last round of league games before championship out of the way, competitive weekend of football. Its a shame though the standard of grounds in the county, disappointing for players who work hard all year and to have to go then and play on fields you wouldn't let a heard of sheep on to. D1 i don.t think manor will be caught. D2 carrigallen, allen gaels and fenagh are in the mix. Carrigallen and Fenagh played out a rotten game today. Heard there was quite abit of controversy on the day. hoganmister (Leitrim) - Posts: 5 - 19/05/2013 19:43:32 1386784 Link 0 |
Hoganmister I would be of the same opinion myself. Ya heard the crack was good at that game with a young man from aughnasheelin referring the game. He should not have been referring that game as Fenagh are playing aughnasheelin in the first round of the championship next week!! looks like div 2 will go to the wire with Allen geals taking top spot and it will be between fenagh, cargallen, drumkeerin, augnasheelin for the 2nd spot. looking at the fixtures left there all these teams have to play at least 2 of them teams still pushing for promition. Manor will take top spot in div 1 with 2nd place between mohil and D,haire. who ever wins the game between the 2 of them will take that spot. lugdrum (Leitrim) - Posts: 234 - 20/05/2013 14:22:30 1387335 Link 0 |
should be an interesting weekend of club games, very interested in the "south Leitrim 4" all of whose clubs play Dromahair coincidentally. Going forward to later in the championship these clubs should have an advantage having all their players available to train with them on a regular basis but it may play into Dromahairs hands if they find two demoralised clubs this weekend 20pointhero (Leitrim) - Posts: 85 - 31/05/2013 15:45:26 1396044 Link 0 |
cant really see how it will help there clubs as if they couldnt commit to the county they wont listen to rules from there club managers. Playing with the county makes you a better player and the confidence from winning would be brought through to the club. All the club players look up to the county lads. there is every possibility after this year mossy beirne wont even play football for club or county anyway. I hope im wrong would be a huge loss to football lugdrum (Leitrim) - Posts: 234 - 31/05/2013 17:32:29 1396125 Link 0 |

Kiltubrid seem to be finding form they bet melvin gaels last night and ran mohill close in the first round of the championship they could be a dark horse for senior championship 20013, melvin gaels seem to have gone down hill badly they lost two games the last two weekends to the two bottom of the leauge teams maybe they were focusing to much on the ulster final this weekend!!! nunu (Leitrim) - Posts: 81 - 20/07/2013 15:03:40 1436432 Link 0 |
