The best thing about this was that it was posted after the game along with a comment that we now have a 'proper manager'... Clearly wasn't even at the game!! It will be interesting to see how Mooney and Niall McKiernan fare out. Both big men, add a lot of physicality going forward. Well I would play him in one of two positions either wing half back or wing half forward but I expect he will either be in the back maybe Rory might be fit so many IF'S But I am sure the boss knows what he is doing so let's go along with him. I can tell you this Atmosphere attitude respect is second to none and moral is fantastic long may it continue. The last time I saw anything like this was way back in 96-97 - 2002. It has to be good for Cavan and I personally feel you need to support the new set up and show them the respect they and the players deserve and they in turn will try and reciprocate with good result's and it will not be for the want of trying. It's harsh to solely judge a full back without also judging the CHB. I think we've suffered a bit at fullback since Alan Clarke hung up the boots. I'm not saying it's alyways the case but a fullback should not have to be tracking a full forward 40 yards out the field running onto ball. I have long suspected that 66 was an alter ego for two other avatars on this site. Whether this is true or not, the above mentioned does not even attend cavan games as evident by his summation of killian Clarkes performance at 'full back' against Tyrone. Great team named by Mattie! I had a Tyrone fan tell me Cavan have stolen his childhood hero:) Great to see Joe Dillion starting again. His Dad was some player for Cavan, n hope Joe can follow in his shoes. He is a strong fighter too. Had a terrible injury, n looked like his days were done, but the boy is flying! Built to bruise! His performance, along with Tom Hayes in the forwards for U-21's in that cruel defeat against Dublin few years ago was immense. The boys helped lift the siege of pressure, n made 'the great' Dublin doubt themselves. Of course the Ref made sure Dublin got through. I always remember funnily about that game was that same ref, did the linesman in Croker for Cavan losing to Roscommon. How in the world does that happen? This as far as I am concerned is a chance for the new manager to get to know each player better and their ability. Donegal showed you what they think of this cup and Tyrone learnt from their game with Cavan and Mr Harte made some changes. UUJ next and what is it the simi final and probably the final as I have no interest in this cup I don't know the way it works. A win is a win off course and long may it continue. Very mediocre game in Ballybofey. Cavan were physically stronger throughout the field and the result was predictable from early in the game unless Cavan didn't try. Try they did, and effort levels were commendable by all personel. This was not a performance that would beat division 1 teams, but it was informative, and It no doubt will enlighten Mattie and his mentors further on their quest for success. Too many passes went astray, possession not got when it should have.
