Thank god a bit of positivity, we have as good of players as ever we had in cavan in Clarke, mcaveety, Moynagh, martin Reilly, Faulkner, smith to name a few, its a shame we are missing ,gearoid, Raymond Galligan, givney but if we play to our potential we won't be far off, best of luck to the lads, come on Cavan.

I would agree with above.. This is the best possible time to be playing Dublin as they have had no game time since the All I Final... make no mistake they will still have to be well below par and us on top of our game to stand a chance but we have a chance... We have already ended one long unbeaten run ( Tyrone in the McKenna Cup ) this year so hopefully we can end Dublins unbeaten league run..... Hopefully it's a nice day and a huge crowd gets behind the lads.. Sean.66 (Cavan) - Posts: 293 - 01/02/2017 16:29:41 1950955 Link 0 |

I'll be there and right behind the team. But if i was betting on it I'd say Dublin by 10 pts. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1485 - 01/02/2017 16:46:52 1950964 Link 0 |

oh I'm going alright. I'll be 100% behind the lads and would love to see them win or even draw with the dubs, but I have to be realistic. OK, we'll be really motivated for this one, but so will the dubs. If we get a jump on them at the start we might hold on, but honestly I can't see it going any other way that a Dublin win. I hope and pray I'm wrong FrDougalMaguire (Cavan) - Posts: 152 - 01/02/2017 16:48:37 1950966 Link 0 |

Well we can't be any more porous than we were last year against Tyrone when Peter Harte walzed in for a few goals. A good attacking team will do for me.. forwards playing as forwards and less of the sh##te that bored us for the last few years. The supporters will return Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 01/02/2017 18:39:11 1951004 Link 0 |

Come straight in the Dublin road. And park either at Argos on the left hand side or anywhere along the road from there in.

So you want cavan to play man to man 15v15?

Folks, don't park too close to the ground as it's a nightmare getting out after the game, better to walk for 10 / 15 minutes and get a clean exit after the game. kildare blue (Cavan) - Posts: 578 - 02/02/2017 06:45:16 1951105 Link 0 |

He's giving out about being porous in one sentence and then the next about 15 v 15. Oxýmoron. Anyway if we have no defensive plan established it could be embarrassing.

No but when they attack I expect to see forwards playing as forwards. Seanie Johnston won't score much 60m from goal .

I'm giving out about players like Johnston coming out 60 metres to get ball.. to give it to who? We are porous because of corner backs coming up to take pot shots and getting turned over. That happens on numerous occasions. If you attack from the back you can't get turned over you need forwards to let the ball into. Not run beside the back that's attacking. That's nothing to do with sports science Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 02/02/2017 11:16:27 1951179 Link 0 |

Seanie didn't get a sniff when in corner versus Tyrone. His man ate him. Think it was an attempt to get him into game.

No teams play forwards as forwards now. Even Dublin drop kilkenny deep. Less of the fantasy talk

Kilkenny is not an out and out forward. Brogan is and you don't see him out around the middle of the field. And he don't do much defending either. He don't come out past 30m.. I wonder why??

Not long to go now lads. I'm a bit nervous to be honest. Weird feeling to imagine the Dubs steaming into Breffni on Sunday. One part of me thinks they could absolutely take us to the cleaners but the closer the game gets the stronger the feeling grows that we will do well. declando (Cavan) - Posts: 38 - 02/02/2017 17:37:24 1951302 Link 0 |

Looking forward to a new era on Sunday. I have no doubt that the boys will put in a huge performance. Whether that's enough to get us across the line I don't know, bring it on! kildare blue (Cavan) - Posts: 578 - 02/02/2017 18:27:40 1951314 Link 0 |

Whats your point. In another post you AWWNOW said that cavan were wrong to be going all out as it let's us open at the back. Yet in the same post you said it was great that we were abandoning the 'defensive football' of the past. (Which saw us top score in the league and reach div one) You have no credibility left as a poster. Please go to some games in order to become an informed poster. On another note in my years supporting our county I have never seen Dublin, Kerry, visit breifne park. On the eve of Dublins visit I for one am excited about what could happen. The least that people could do is wait until Sunday to spit their bile. Lads like you and your alter egos could stay at home on Sunday and continue to post uninformed nonsense or alternatively go to the game for once instead of getting a report from the local barman. sceptical (Cavan) - Posts: 544 - 02/02/2017 22:03:57 1951361 Link 1 |
