@offside (Antrim) 1946 wasn't the birth of cyclical play sure Kerry were at them antics in 1939 semi v Mayo 4 points each and won the replay Mayo of that era also experienced it from Galway two so these counties haven't always played 'lovely' football. The Mayo team of the late 40s early 50s were well able to give it out aswell as take it. I was once told by a future Connacht chairman that it isn't a gentlemans game so I should be taking lumps off my man.
