he doesn't start though does he and secondly he is surrounded by other superstars in the attack, that's not the case with our defence with its sieve like characteristics, how could they manage to chase forward of the calibre of Flynn, commonly, kilkenny, rock, Bernard and many more on the bench for 70 mins without being burned many times?

Denis is older than Alan and he starts, more often than not now. I guess depending on the opposition Alan could start. Anyway the fact remains, Dublin have players playing in their mid 30s. Kerry play a blanket defence so chasing Dublin's younger forwards is not going to be a problem.

Kerry are well able to defend

They have a very impressive defensive system under EF

It helped win them the All Ireland last year

Badly wrong there

Worst defensive record in Div 1 (Who had the best record - Wouldn't take a genius to figure that out)

Conceded 2 goals to Tipp (should have been 4/5) 3 goals to Cork only 1 goal in replay because the terrible weather masked our serious defensive defiencies.

I rest my case

The Dubs really do never miss a trick!

Before Sunday Kerry we were called an 'average', 'lucky' and 'limited' team - when weren't not seen as any threat to the Boys in Blue.

Now after Sunday they are beginning to think wrestling Sam off us might be harder work than they planned.

So its a crash course now in the Kerry patented 'cute hoorism'.

Don't worry lads we're not biting.

Everything has settled back down again in the Kingdom after Sunday.

Always nice to flex the muscles but were still a long long way yet from successfully defending our title.

Tyrone or Monaghan will need to be given serious respect, a tough tough battle lies ahead.

Still just to put this era of Kerry football (2000-2015) in perspective:

16 years
15 Q-final appearances
14 out of 16 Semi final appearances
10 All Ireland Final appearances (including 6 in a row)
6 All Ireland titles

Whatever happens for the respect of the year #respect....

Exactly, this current team has wildly overachieved given its talent level particularly compared to our 70s 80s and 00s teams. nobody in the Kingdom has any real expectations of winning AI, as the saying goes lightning never strikes twice

Tight margins from here on. Who will hold their nerve? Who will adapt better? Who will play the referee to a tee and ride their luck?

Nominations for the best excuse after defeat in 2015 are...

Ya we have the worst defence in 2015 and we had the best defence in 2014, our 2 best defenders are 35 years old maldini and coctacurta . But sure we'll fight on and see what happens.

Yes KB but as ye boys are so fond of reminding us Dublin are a league team and Kerry are a championship team. On that basis we must rule out any stats for Kerry in the league as we are constantly reminded that they don't take it seriously. This was clearly highlighted by their pure awesomeness on Sunday, a performance that no neutral saw coming based on their league outtings. The favourites tag is well justified at this point.

Who is saying that Joxer? Please don't be misrepresenting our views by making things up

Not making anything up KY. The Kerry boys always refer to Dublin as a league team and themselves as a championship team. Look back at the league threads. It follows therefore that any stats relating to Kerry in the league should be ignored as they don't take it seriously. It's a known fact. Kerry prime themselves for the championship. They come in under the radar and sweep aside all and sundry in Summer, just like last year. Pointing to league matches as an indication of a poor Kerry defence is nonsense.

Well if thats the case please disregard it as it's complete and utter nonsense. Division 1 league is a lot stronger barometer of how good a team is than the provincial champs playing against Division 3 and 4 cannon-fodder. The fact that we have struggled in each of the last 3 years just to stay up and ye have streamrolled to success is a perfect illustration of what I have been at pains to point out the last week on HS.

So the team that has barely scraped relegation in the last THREE seasons is favoured over a team who has won the aforementioned THREE leagues as well 2 AI's. Give me a break please...

The title of this thread will soon become even more pronounced!

Wonder what odds the Kerry back to back were at the start of the year...

There will be a few broad grins in the Kingdom...
