Amazing Kerry

Some performance from Kerry yesterday despite the opposition. I believe they will make the final and it's currently a toss up of who they will meet but it's looking like Dublin.

Exactly WestKerry, beware the Madding crowd....

We are where we want to be and expected to be, that's all.

However it is great to see such an 'average and limited' Kerry side put on a display like that every now and then!!!

Tougher times lay ahead but for now things are looking good.

One swallow never made a summer and no All Irelands won in August. Kerry very good today but as Gooch said afterwards Kildare were a tired team today after three successive weekends playing in the qualifiers. Kerry beat a poor outfit today while Dublin had a much tougher task against Fermanagh and were awesome I thought especially the way in which they answered the Fermanagh goal by just upping the pace and scoring a simply fantastic goal as an immediate riposte. Dublin moving up the gears at the right time as September approaches and this will undoubtably have an unsettling effect on the Kerry camp. This blue tide rising must surely be causing ripples on the Killarney Lakes after today not to mention possible landslides on Croagh Patrick. God will we be able to catch their coat tails at all at all if they cross our bow's in the AIF.

Ok. Ok. smartypants. We can all sense the smug complacency underneath the evident irony. We all know you have no respect for this Dublin team and that's they way we like it. But don't get too smug. There is a precedent in previous Championships for teams to go out and hammer a team only to be hammered themselves in subsequent matches. It happened to Dublin Meath and Mayo. Apart from that it was great to see Gooch back. Certainly Hope JOD is going to be ok. Love watching him play. Just hope this complacency infects the Kerry dressingroom.

galwayford

come on Dublin Mayo or Tyrone. Save the GAA and Gaelic football stop Kerry. If that means a punch up do it! The future of the GAA and Gaelic football is at stake. We don't need another Kerry domination (good and all as they are).

If we had almost 1.5 million people, millions every year in sponsorship and GAA grants and got to play every game at Fitzgerald Stadium then I would be worried from a neutral perspective but we don't have any of those advantages (or even remotely close to) so fret not

You couldn't be further from the truth. I was in Croker yesterday and the Dubs around me in the Hogan Stand weren't the least bit worried about Kerry and were actually very condescending towards Kerry as a whole (comments from 'Jeez they are brutal' at the start of the game to Kildare are '****' near the end)

I dont have a problem with that, they were giving their honest opinions, like I do and to be honest yesterday's result was a complete an utter freak.

Kildare dismantled a Cork side who should have beaten us on our home turf. Anyone that believes the scoreline is a fair indication of the teams abilities needs their heads checked!

In the first half the game was 50/50 maybe even slightly more Kildare who owned the ball for long stages they were just unlucky with a lot of their chances. The game should have been at level at Half Time. (Not like the Dublin Kildare game when they had the game done and dusted after 10 mins). The second half then Kildare lost heart and we got a few lucky bounces of the ball.

The point is freak games do happen, albeit not that often. In 2001 we got walloped by Meath who were then beat well by Galway, the same Galway side we had beaten the previous year in the final and beat again in 2002!

Kerry were very good yesterday,no doubt about that. I'm amazed at how people lose the run of themselves over a particular result though. Reminds of how the "unbeatable" Dubs were in fact beaten by Donegal and how Donegal were schooled by Mayo and how Mayo still didn't go all the way. A fine performance one day.....is just that.

Why did Kerry not score more than 7. Had several goal chances and didnt attempt to take them!! Was this a case of not wanting to embarrass kildare?

Great to see the Kerry boys patting themselves on the back after beating the 4th best team in Leinster.

Surely we have to start talking about the big one

KERRY LOOK NAILED ON

TO WIN BACK TO BACK ALL IRELANDS

Out of the last number of Champions

They look like the most likely to do it

Kerry fans must be getting very excited

What you reckon Kerry fans...

I'm so worried about Dublin meeting this super Kerry team should we meet, this team are really unbelievable, just look at what they done to that football superpower that we call Kildare! Can you just imagine what they'd do to that poor Dublin team! Frightening!

Jay P, take whatever narrative you want out of this lad, but open your eyes at least. No Kerry poster is going overboard about beating Kildare.

We are rightly satisfied that Kerry played some of the most sublime football any Kerry team have ever produced in the second half and if watching them didn't warm your heart as a GAA man, then you aren't a GAA man!

I'm sure plenty of Kerry posters are also quietly satisfied to once again but those WUMs who claim that this team is 'defensive', 'average' 'limited' etc etc, back in their little boxes for another few weeks.

But we know its going to take at least two more massive, massive performances if Sam Maguire is going to stay in Kerry this winter.

An Riocht Abu!!!!

The Buttermen are so powerful, so slick, so skillful and utterly unstoppable.

We watched Kildare clip Cork last week down Semple Stadium, proving they are very capable team. Then Kerry blew them clean out of the water yesterday, so I now ask the question of how will Monaghan or Tyrone cope with that kind of football?

As I said in other thread no chance in hell Jimbo

On HS last week 50% of posters were tipping a Kildare win now AI favourites gibberish.

A total kneejerk to a freak result. If we didnt get extremely lucky with the first goal, all the others wouldn't have happened like they did as it just shattered their confidence(having played well in the 1st half without the scoreboard reflecting it) which was unfortunate as no-one wants to see games finish like that. I vividly remember being on the Hill when Meath absolutely pummeled a very good Kerry team and it wasn't pleasant.

Well garrymac Monaghan and Tyrone both play blanket defences so we will play a blanket to counteract that , in those situations games tend to be close so the game will remain in doubt till the very end IMO with the team that are more clinical in front of the posts winning, as I said yesterday I fancy Tyrone to beat Monaghan on Saturday so Tyrone will have the momentum and with it being mickey Hartes last season in charge it'l be interesting.

If JOD is out then my statement stands, that statement was uncomfortably vague for my liking and we would need at the very peak of his powers to even get a sniff, no team has ever won an AI without at least 1 superstar and he is our superstar without a doubt.

If were steamrolling teams all year I'd agree with the 'amazing' title but the truth is that it's a one-off freak occurrence, Monaghan or Tyrone certainly won't have the shivers about the Semi Final

Yez are playing blanket defense yerselves anyway, whether ye play Ulster teams or not,ye had 2 sweepers at work last day out. Nothing wrong with that either, just pointing out that yez are doing it regardless of opposition.

The bookies have it right this year. There is no question that kerry and dublin will be the 2 teams to beat, whoever wins the all ireland will have to beat at least one if not both of them. That looks unlikely after the matches on sunday.
