Amazing it just seems to have occured to Donegal that you have to score to win a match , maybe to late ,

Poor stuff all round but Monaghan worthy of their lead, hope they can hang on.

Donegal look like they dont want to score, Donegal, Mayo and Dublin now on the same side of the draw.

Very frustrating game to lose. We kicked an unbelievable amount of wides. Well done to Monaghan though.

The timekeeping once again leaves a lot to be desired. There was one minute signalled at the end of the first half. Michael Murphy gave the ball away on Monaghan's 45 with 36.15 on the clock. Coldrick let Monaghan go up and kick a score. In the 2nd half Rory Beggan received treatment for a full 2 minutes. There was also another Monaghan man received treatment for a full minute near the end of normal time. Only 3 minutes were added and over a minute of that was taken up after Clerkin went down.

ya Donegal hit a lot of wides, but most of them from silly positions.Monaghan did well and deserved the win,but I was disappointed with Donegal today and they are very one dimensional.Murphy is wasted out the field.

Have to admit its a deserved victory for Monaghan. Donegal appeared not to have a plan B. No variation to their game plan. Kicking let them down. Gutted

I completely agree ben the time keeping by officiating is a joke. Time and time again we are seeing not enough time added on and then the time that is allowed is been eaten up by cynicism without the time getting added on. Again there was no consistency with time allowed on the end of the min. Donegal cannot claim to be too hard done by there as that was class A sloppiness from Murphy similar to Christy Toye given away a sitter by poor play.

Well done to Monaghan and hard luck to Donegal. Terrible wides from Donegal. They should have equalised at the end. Definitely thought that there should have been at least 4 to five mins added at the end. Time to take the timekeeping away from the referee.

Good win for Monaghan. They didn't score for the last 20 minutes however, and almost let Donegal back into the game.

Good win for Monaghan. One worry, they didn't score for the last 20 minutes, almost let Donegal snatch a draw. Monaghan should have won by 4-5 points based on their overall display.

Time keeping is a constant problem in the GAA, but generally the only ones that bring it up are the losing team that needed that extra time so it's dismissed as sour grapes. Until the countdown clock is introduced this is going to continue.
As for the game itself, well done to Monaghan, unfortunately for Donegal they are no better than anyone else against the blanket..

4 or 5 points? What second half were you watching. They did not score as there was only one team in it.

Absolutely kicked that game away, but what is most disappointing is how Donegal didn't push on as they should when it was a one point game. Went back to slow and ponderous play when they should have been throwing the kitchen sink at Monaghan. Did exactly the same in AI final last year. Anyway, well done Monaghan, hopefully see youse in Croker later in the summer
