Lot of people getting on their high horse about this. It's good banter although the tie can't even be thought about before this weekend is done.
Anyway I think Devenney came out with this as a Donegal man to try and get under Dublins skin. Brolly mentioned in a recent article that he believed McGuinness and Donegal were under their skin, citing incidents where Paul Flynn and Bernard Brogan accosted him with words about Donegal, Brogan having claimed the Dubs would have beaten us in the 2012 final, had they met.
Devenney is just taking that on and trying to unsettle the Dubs by saying this. If it puts 1% of doubt or ruffles their feathers even a little (should they meet!!) then job done.
The timing wasn't great though. would have gone down better in the run up to the match, IF it is to happen.

The gulf in class is huge Donegal will be about 4s in semi and probably be a 8 point handicap.
