Is there any dark horses for the football championship?

If Tyrone can sort out their defensive problems, they would be the main All Ireland Challengers this year. Without a doubt they have the attacking talent to beat anybody, but they concede far to much and sometimes switch off for periods.

Cork are excellent, however I was worried by how they performed against Dublin in the League SF. They like Derry in the final, learned a sharp lesson. Still think a Munster Championship beckons for them, but it may be a year too soon for a serious All Ireland challenge.

If Donegal can build up momentum and confidence, they have the players to beat anybody. Squad depth is constantly listed as an Issue though, but winning another 5 Championship games on the trot is not beyond them. Sign of hunger and Intensity returning, and the fact they have done it all before will stand to them and give them belief.

This is Mayo's 4th season under James Horan, and they will be looking to contest their 3rd All Ireland final on the trot. Sean Boylan once alluded to how draining it is to win back to back All Ireland's, I can't begin to Imagine how draining it would be to lose back to back All Ireland's.

Monaghan
are a very strong outfit. I always think you need to lose an AI SF before kicking on to win an AI title, and Monaghan probably need to push on from here and reach an AI Semi final. I do think they could win an All Ireland, they are a very strong team.

Derry, Kerry and Meath should be around the last 8, but outside of this I don't see emerging teams like Roscommon or Cavan making a breakthrough, nor more established sides like Down or Kildare pushing on.

All in all, It is still Dublin's title to lose.
